Enjoy a rare vacation getaway in one of our family's rustic lakeside cottages in the woods. Nicknamed ''The Manor House', it was built in the 1930s, when people went to their 'camps' to find peace and quiet in natural surroundings. Nestled in the heart of our 36 acres, it is full of period charm, with fieldstone fireplace and front porch for relaxing and taking in the spectacular Belknap Mountains across Lake Winnipesaukee. A separate sleeping cabin (no bath) --ideal for children - is optional with this rental (subject to availability. A little beach makes wading or launching canoes/kayaks easy. You can fish off the jetty. One dock slip for a small motor/sail boat is available for an additional fee. A fire ring invites cookouts. Private tennis court recently refinished. This is the perfect spot for an outdoorsy couple looking for a romantic interlude or a family wanting to spend old-fashioned summer time with the kids.

Our family enjoyed a true New Hampshire summer-on-the-lake vacation. The rustic lakehouse brought us to a place of timelessness, and simplicity. This is a peaceful place, with the fine beauty of Lake Winnepesaukee at our doorstep. We played tennis, played horseshoes, kayaked, fished off the dock and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows at night. The beach provided us with multiple daily swims on the pristine lake. There was good correspondence with the owners who are attentive and communicative. We give high recommendations for those seeking a respite by going "back to basics" in natural surroundings.
