Our house is located in an incredible secluded location in the high desert of Joshua Tree, CA. It has extensive panoramic views, including views of Joshua Tree National Park which is within short hiking distance. Highdesert Homestead, located just two hours from Los Angeles, is the perfect getaway to reconnect with yourself and with nature.
Amongst our favorite things to do here, is relaxing inside with a good book while basking in the warm glow of the wood burning fireplace, or exploring the great outdoors on this pristine 2.5 acres of desert landscape. Please be sure to check our weblink above for additional information and photos.
We returned today from the US and we can say that the stay at Highdesert Homestead was our absolute highlight. Accommodation, view, and calm ambience with the surrounding nature were fantastic. We immediately felt at home and were so sad as we had to leave too early.
Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!
We loved your property and how great you were to us. We originally were coming for 3 nights but found ourselves there a night early with a 17 month old baby and no properties in town allowing dogs. It was 11:00 at night and thought we would just check and see if property was vacant, since we were going to be checking in next afternoon. It was vacant and cleaned and we were so relieved as the baby was having meltdown. I contacted them via email and the got back to us quickly, they also let us pay the next day which was very kind. We were very appreciative and the property is beautiful and quiet. Thank you again so much for a great stay.
Not only was this property beyond charming (the pictures truly don't do it justice), but it has an intangible and wonderful vibe. It is inviting, warm, and immediately feels like home. It is secluded and private, yet also feels a part of the wonderful community that is Joshua Tree. Equal distance between the west entrance to the park and the town, it is ideally situated. I had a magical stay, and would return in a heart beat!
My husband, two dogs and I stayed at the Highdesert Homestead over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Edmund was great from the very beginning, and made us feel at ease with booking. The location is perfect as it's tucked in the JT Highlands for quiet and privacy, but is only a 5-10 minute drive to the West entrance of the park.
The house is incredibly spacious, clean and well maintained. The photos listed are exactly what we got. We loved that there was a fence around the property so that our dogs could roam around. It is pretty rocky, sandy and just overall desert-y so we did have boots on them to make it easier. There's an iHome so you can play music, and great books and magazines to peruse through. The kitchen has almost everything you could think of, and we took advantage of the grill too!
Overall, we really loved it and can't wait to come back. We would recommend it to anyone!
This is the second time we've rented this place in March (8 nights). We love staying here. The setting is private, quiet, and scenic. The house and furnishings are simple but classy and highly functional. It's well-cared for. It's close to the NP, the visitors' center, and "downtown". The fenced-in yard is great for our dog. The owner, Edmund, is responsive and easy to deal with. In short, we'd stay here a lot longer if we could.
This tastefully appointed home is situated in the high desert just off the access road to Joshua Tree. The perfect place from which to enjoy this remarkable landscape. Every piece of furniture, artwork, linens, magazines, and books were carefully chosen to provide a calm respite. The sunrise is incredible.
This was a nice place to stay while visiting Joshua Tree National Park. It made a good base camp for visiting the surrounding area including Palm Springs while not being in an urban environment. If you are a desert fan, this is the place. Our winter visit was quite chilly, but once we got a fire and the heater going we were warm inside. There is also a pretty good barbecue place in Yucca Valley.
The property is clean, a bit minimalist, well maintained and accurately represented. The kitchen has almost everything you need. The heating will keep you warm in the cool part of the year. It looks like the cooling would be good for the summer. The pictures show the property well. We loved the fact that fenced yard provided a good place for our dogs to run and play.
I would recommend this property to a friend if they wanted to be in the desert, away from the silly tv, and they just wanted to explore and relax.
This property is everything that it says it is, but does not reach above and beyond. The owner however was quite cooperative and provides good service.
