You pay above contract price for cleaning.

The house is big and empty with the exception of beds. The windows were painted shut or bolted shut, so you couldn't open them for fresh air. The air conditioner was on, but it was stuffy and warm in the bedrooms, even with the air on. There is one couch to sit on and it is not comfortable (a futon). The kitchen had very few amenities (no blender to name one thing). There's a large dining room which is the best part of the house, but you can't open the doors - they are bolted shut. There's a TV in the Master Bedroom with no remote.
You have to pay $100 to have the house cleaned after you leave which comes out of your security deposit. Know that when you pay your security deposit, you won't get it back because the owner charges you for maid service between tenants, not for damages, but to have someone come in and clean for the next tenant (not in the contract.) I've never paid for cleaning service..that's always a part of the rent., and I've rented vacation homes for the past twenty years. The owner is responsible for cleaning between tenants, but not for this property - you are. This is a big negative, because it wasn't in the contract, and I only found out I had to pay after I asked for my security deposit back. I've never had a security deposit withheld for any reason, let alone cleaning between tenants.
It's a long four block walk to the beach, which is okay if you are just walking, but if you want to carry stuff (chairs, umbrella, a cooler, etc.), you should do what we did, and drive down to the beach, unload stuff, then walk back. It would be hard if you had little kids. I would not recommend this rental to anyone. The best thing about the house was off street parking was available.
I will got back to Rehoboth Beach, but not this property. The boardwalk was cool, and the shopping and dining were good- lots of choices.
