Review from Clint Norman: I have been spending vacation time in Puerto Vallarta for the past five years now and the 2009 Christmas and New Year of 2010 was the best ever! I managed to get a time that matched my vacation time perfectly in the most wonderful condo, that of Matthias Vogt on Francisco I Madero 536. I was by myself however the condo would have easily hosted 4 people because of its size. It had two bedrooms, two very complete bathrooms as well as a full kitchen, laundry, dining and living area. It was excellent in every way to meet all my day to day needs and is very centrally located and quite close to a delightful and friendly market place that is just around the corner. I do not hesitate to recommend this condo to anyone who may decide to vacation in Puerto Vallarta because of its location, its very accommodating owner, and its ambiance! I hope that all have as wonderful a vacation as I did. I will return as soon as possible!
Am from Berlin/Germany....was an Artists' Manager for some famous classical musicians...therefore love music and the arts in general. Always wanted to live in Italy...but then discovered Puerto Vallarta and fell in love with this town, especially with the kindness of the Mexicans and the multicultural aspect of this town. Life is low-key, unpretentious and just wonderful. Am now very much involved in the PV Garden Club: www.vallartagardenclub.com. Our aim is to beautify the town with plants, trees etc. and to take care of what we have planted.
Matthias Vogt purchased this apartment in 2008
I wanted something in the old town, close to a market place, restaurants within walking distance, lovely Mexicans around me....I have it all.
This is something you have to find out by yourself....you will be surprised and love every moment of being here. Just open your mind and heart!
The Condo is clean, quiet and nicely located. Being a new building, everything is modern looking, with lots of light and is a nicely organized space for one to four people. With a seven-block walk to the beach, we get a little bit of exercise everyday and we’re far enough away from the hustle, bustle and noise of hotels, restaurants and bars along the strip, not to be bothered by it. At the same time, it’s all just a 10-min walk away. Another thing we like about the condo is the security. With locks on the front door, three on our inside door, and owners and renters keeping an eye out, there are no worries about getting anything stolen. Finally, just around the corner there’s a nice little traditional market where we buy most of our groceries and get to practice a bit of Spanish. As well, the owner is excellent at fixing any little thing immediately. It is a great place to rent and we would highly recommend it to anyone.
We spent 5 weeks at this property and thoroughly enjoyed it. Matthias was a truly wonderful host. The property is a short 10 minute walk from the beach and many restaurants. There is a convenience store very close and the bus stops are within about 5 minutes walk.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was a blessing on very hot days but mostly it was quite cool without the AC on. It was a good sized apartment with everything we needed for our 5 week stay.
I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking to stay in PV.
From start to finish, I had such a nice stay at this flat! I highly recommend it. The owner was quick to respond to my inquiry and clear in his communication (I've since learned that he speaks many languages including Spanish, German, French, English and maybe Italian too). If you're familiar with the layout of the old town/Romantic zone, this flat is located within easy walking distance of the Malecon and restaurants like Daiquiri Dicks, but closer to the hills and the Rio Cual, and...happily...about two blocks from a cluster of food vendors (fresh tortillas, good produce, a nice butcher). You are also about 4-5 blocks from Insurgentes street, where you can catch 6.5 peso buses to the commercial district of town (e.g., Costco, OfficeMax, Walmart, etc.). There is an HSBC (best place for using the ATM) about 10 mins walk. The interior of the flat is tastefully decorated and feels inviting. There are some lovely photographs and prints on the walls, which made me feel at home. There are both A/C and powerful fans in every room. Layout-wise, the front door opens facing the kitchen and the living room. Each bedroom and its (modern, clean) bathroom are on opposite ends. I came down in the off season and was working. The flat was ideal for this since the Wifi was quick and stable and there is a large desk in one of the bedrooms. There is a washer in the flat itself and clothes lines on the roof (my laundry often dried in a hour). The kitchen is small, but thoughtfully provisioned with a good sautee pan, range of pots, and a good selection of cooking tools. The whole setup and flow of the flat is well thought-out and works. In the past year and a half I have stayed in 25+ VRBO/Homeaway properties (I am a perpetual traveler and live where I travel) and this was one of my favorites.
We were there April 14th-23 2011, and everyone enjoyed our stay in PV We rented directly through the owner. He was waiting for us when we arrived... so we walked right in and he showed us the suite with humor and grace.
Condo was a clean, spacious, 2 bedroom and 2 bath. linens, comforters, towels, kitchen with most regular items. The couch was a leather that could be made into a bed . On the right of the kitchen a full laundry room.
Short walk straight down the road which is directly on beach. Approx 10 mins.Lots to see on the way...make sure to havea taco at the many many Taco stands....So YUMMY!!!!
The property is within walking distance to a MANY restaurants.
There were some people fishing, catching many many fish and shrimp
Overall a very good experience ...we will be back...and will highly recommend this unit to friends
Condominium is located in Puerto Vallarta's old town where the 'flavor' of Mexico has been preserved. Walking to the beach is a daily joy and exhilarating experience. Shopping at the nearby market, where you find the freshest fruits and vegetables ever for very little money, is a soothing experience. River Cuale and it's park with exotic plants and animals is five steps away. And so is the Casa de la Cultura where movies are projected for free every Wednesday night.
