We are a fun couple who love to travel. We enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. It is our attention to detail that will make your stay a great one!
The Owner purchased this studio in 2009
We believe this is San Diego's best kept secret neighborhood. We are surrounded by million dollar historic homes and one of San Diego's most beautiful views of the city's skyline. We wouldn't trade it for anything!
Our property is so centrally located you are literally minutes from everything and anything in San Diego!
Enjoyed 3 days touring the San Diego area. Great fully stocked apartment, loved the location & atmosphere. Close to the zoo, Balboa Park, North Park shopping, coffee shops, and restaurants yet this place is tucked away in plain sight. Dogs were friendly & somewhat added security for someone staying alone. Thanks so much for everything. Can't wait to come back. Be sure to add comments in their book. (Sandi)
A great find! I never thought id find such a cute, cozy place in this area! I wanted to be close to my childhood friend whom recently gave birth to twins, to help and not impose (ok..theres no room!). Found this great studio! its clean, comfortable, has a huge beautiful bathroom, nice appliances...i wish i would have spent more time enjoying it, but there is a ton to do in Norht Park! Great restuarants, zoo, parks...shopping. I was able to be helpful when needed, and enjoyed my time in this part of town when alone. A great place, fun fun area...will return for sure!
This studio rental was a perfect rental for me, my husband and our small dog. After just a couple quick email exchanges with the owner I was able to make a last-minute reservation for the upcoming weekend. I was amazed at how easy it was. We also didn't need to put down a deposit or pay any pet fees, which was a big plus.
The studio is located directly behind the main house up on the second floor. There is a single parking spot accessible by an alley behind the house for guests. A private entryway up a flight of stairs brings you to the studio entrance. Along the way you'll pass the owner's two dogs and chicken coop, all of which were adorable.
We didn't see the owners a single time during our stay, which was fine by us. I'd compare the experience to what you'd get at a budget hotel with the pluses of a much better location and much more privacy. And, of course, a small kitchen (but we didn't make use of it). It's true that the television is old and has a VCR player, but we weren't there to watch TV anyway. If you're an active couple (with or without a pet) and need an affordable place to stay in a great location in SD, this rental is a great choice.
We were so excited to find a place that wasn't a hotel and would allow us to bring our small dog. The owners were super friendly and always considerate towards us. I'm so glad I didn't go by the review from the cranky lady who was wrong about everything. We had a great trip and loved some of the suggestions given by the owners. The location is excellent and it really was easy to find everywhere we wanted to go. There were dog parks and dog beaches close by. Our favorite dog beach was on Coronado which is a fun drive anyway even without a pet. The neighborhood was a great place to walk our dog and everyone we encountered was really nice. It was hard to go home. We would definitely stay here again.
My daughter lives in the same neighborhood. We were looking for a place to rent that would be close to her house but where we could be independent.
This studio was ideal. We've already rented it twice and will certainly rent it again.
Everything is comfortable and convenient. It's a little house, with all you can imagine and need. You feel immediately at home.
And the owners are adorable!
I stayed here with my husband and 4-year old for 4 nights. The studio is above the owner’s garage and accessed off the alley but is basically in the back yard of the owner’s house. It’s pretty basic and clean but cramped for three people (even if one is a small child). The kitchen has a refrig, coffee maker, toaster oven, and hot plate and limited dishes and utensils. I wouldn't expect to make any elaborate meals here but it was fine for breakfast and such. Some paper towels would have been nice. The bathroom is large and nice. The studio has free wi-fi, which came in very handy for us and there is a dedicated parking spot in the alley.
It had been very hot so we slept with the windows open and were a bit surprised to be woken to the sound of chickens below our front door in the morning but it wasn’t too noisy. However, it would have
been nice to know that we’d have a built-in alarm clock. They're cute though.
I think we saw the owner’s family a few times in the yard but they never said hello or asked how we were doing, which I found a bit strange (even though we attempted to engage in conversation). We felt a little unwelcome and to be more of a source of revenue than a guest.
On our last night, the owners had a party in their backyard and it was very loud from within the studio. I called twice to ask them to please move the party indoors or be less loud as our child was trying to sleep. They never returned my calls. My husband went down and had to ask around to figure out who was the owner and also asked that they quiet down or move away from the back of the yard but the owner just told us to close the windows and said they'd be continuing for a few more hours. The windows were already closed and it was pretty warm without the circulation.
The party guests were very loud and were smoking pot in the garage beneath us. The smoke from their barbecue was also very noticeable from inside the studio. We would have at least appreciated knowing that the party was planned so that we could make other arrangements. I had informed them that our daughter was staying with us so it’s not like they didn’t know that we might appreciate a quieter environment.
i don't expect a lot of interaction from property owners but I do expect that they'll return phone calls and try to be a respectful and considerate host. Even if our child hadn't been trying to sleep, it still felt a little odd to be right in the middle of their loud party.
