Mountain Road in Gardiner, our house is five minutes to the best rock climbing areas and world class hiking and biking in Minnewaska State Park, Mohonk Preserve, and rail trails. There’s a lively cultural life with live music, theater and dance, and museums like Storm King Art Center. Local farms offer fresh produce, honey, pick your own fruits, pumpkins in the fall, etc. Five nearby golf courses. A four season destination, with gorgeous autumn color, winter cross country skiing, spring abundance, and great summer sports!
A great house!:
With huge east and south facing windows and sky lights, the house is light-filled. Rooms are generously proportioned and comfortably but elegantly furnished. Floors are hardwood or tile, with radiant heat in the living/dining/kitchen area. A raised counter divides the kitchen from living area for quick meals or socializing. The kitchen itself has new Energy Star appliances, plentiful designer cabinets and generous counter space. The light-filled carpeted ground floor is furnished with cable TV, ping pong table and futon for extra guests. It also has a laundry room with washer and drier. A solar hot water system makes the house even more environmentally friendly.
The Great Outdoors:
Two decks -- a dining deck with gas grill off the kitchen and a southeast facing entry deck for sunning on cool days – extend the livings pace to the out doors. Two acres of open lawns are great for kick ball, volley ball, or just relaxing. Mature trees and plantings include sugar maples, spruce, dogwood, Japanese maple, wisteria, lilacs, forsythia, mockorange, etc. New plantings include perennials for 3 season color. An outdoor shower lets you clean off under a canopy of leaves and sky.
