Beachin' It in St. Martin

We were off to a rough start, with air conditioning not working the day we arrived, but Philippe had it replaced the following morning! Then we had a leak in the kitchen sink, which he also had repaired promptly. The studio was nicely decorated, the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, and the location was convenient - 2 minute drive to Orient Village, or a 25 minute walk along the beach to all of Orient's activity and watersports. You reach the beach via a short walk through the complex, and past the pool - no more than 2 minute walk. It was a 15 minute drive to Marigot. The view isn't quite what it appears in the picture - you can't see the ocean without leaning out over the edge of the balcony, but you look down on the tennis courts and the pond/chevrise beyond. It was a 5-10 minute walk to the boulangerie, where we could either buy our baguettes and croissants to go, or to eat there with a cup of yummy French coffee. There are also a couple of good restaurants within walking distance. Don't think this means you don't need a car - you do, if you want to do any exploring of the island or do your food shopping. Speaking of cars - the parking is a bit sketchy - the parking lot is not paved and is a mass of potholes!
Remember: this is listed as a studio - which it is - but that's just another name for a hotel room! For a two week stay it got a bit small, but the price was right and Philippe was so nice and so accommodating!
Would I recommend this studio to a friend or relative? If value and convenience for well-maintained, clean accommodations was their primary concern, then absolutely...if luxury is what they crave, then go someplace else!
