We had a BLAST! Matagorda is a perfect family get away! This condo was perfect for my family of 4 plus one friend and our golden. It was a perfect home away from home. It was comfortable, clean and very well maintained; kitchen was fully stocked with everything you will need to cook along with a outside grill. We stopped at the Walmart in Bay City to stock up on groceries for the week. We fished off the balcony in the catch & release lagoon. The beach is just over the dunes about a 3 minute walk from the condo. We didn't use the pool but it was very close. Neighbors are very nice, one neighbor even invited us to their crawfish boil. You can drive on the beach which is a very short drive from the condo. Very safe, so safe I felt comfortable allowing my kids (two 15 year old and one 7 year old) to go to the beach by themselves. The owners were VERY NICE and responded immediately to my email. She also supplied us with very detailed information about restaurants, grocery store (Stanley's has EVERYTHING you might have forgotten), souvenir shopping, buying fresh seafood from the local fishermen, driving directions...you name it she covered it! There are about 5 restaurants in Matagorda and each close on different week days so be sure to check their hours of operation. We will definitely rent this condo again and we ABSOLUTELY recommend this condo to anyone. The beds were a little hard for our liking so the next time we come we will bring thicker mattress pads.
