The Bahamas House is, quite simply, the best vacation spot you’ll find in the Bahamas.
It’s located in the perfect place. Far enough away from the restaurants, marinas, and nightlife so you feel serenely isolated, but all of that stuff is just a short golf cart ride away. The pictures are beautiful, but can't begin to capture the true serenity of the place. It's magical. You’ll feel you're REALLY on vacation upon your arrival.
The house features a wrap-around deck and a HUGE front porch facing west towards the water. The sunsets are spectacular.
Steps from the front porch, you’ll sink your toes into the sandy warm waters of Coco Bay, a protected shallow cove full of sea life and an ideal spot for snorkelers of all skill levels. A gently sloping beach gives way to a large expanse of underwater life. You’ll meet all kinds of fish, conch, rays, sand dollars, starfish, sea turtles, and more. After you snorkel, you’ll relax in beach chairs either on the sand or in the water. There’s just no better place to enjoy a cool rum drink than sitting with friends in the shallow warm waters of Coco Bay.
When you decide to head back to the house, you’ll find an outdoor sink and shower on the porch to rinse off the salt and sand. I’m not sure why, but it FEELS GREAT to shower in the sunshine!
You’ll also LOVE the refreshing AC inside the Bahamas House. The furnishings of the house are beautiful, comfortable, and its floor plan is ideal for both extended families and groups of friends. Each bedroom is situated in a spot where it's easy to sneak off for an afternoon nap or to privately stay up late reading novels or listening to baseball games. (The WIFI service in the house is reliable and speedy so don't hesitate to bring your Kindle or iPad.)
The bedrooms connect to a large common area where it's easy to hang out with your vacation companions. A huge great room combines a very comfortable living area with a NICE big screen TV (with DVDs and DirecTV), a cozy sitting area overlooking Coco Bay, bar seating, a modern kitchen, and dining area. You can all be together even when you're doing different things.
But the best parts of The Bahamas House are the owners. Be sure to ask for the “secret list” of great things to do while you’re there. We always mentioned where we were staying to the locals and were treated like royalty everywhere we went. You just won’t find such warm and genuine affection many places, if anywhere.
