Enjoy your vacation in this charming home nestled among the pecan trees in an historic district in Downtown New Braunfels, Texas. Centrally located, and one of only a few homes to rent in the downtown area, the home is within walking distance of the Comal River, Schlitterbahn, the McKenna Children’s Museum and Landa Park. New Braunfels is a train town and like any part of downtown New Braunfels, we are located near where the trains pass through, so you will hear trains every so often. While the issue has been discussed often over the years with the city, it has been accepted as a part of the charm to our beautiful town.

Downtown New Braunfels offers fine dining, entertainment, and numerous activities close by. Gruene Hall, Texas’ oldest dance hall, is a short drive away and is famous for the live entertainers who sing on stage every day. Gruene also offers great shopping, restaurants and wine tasting. Lake McQueeney is a great place to water ski and is a short five minute drive, and Canyon Lake, a much larger lake is about a 25-minute drive. Want to shop? The outlet malls, Prime and Tanger, are only fifteen minutes away!

Beautiful New Braunfels: Situated between Austin and San Antonio, there are unlimited tourist attractions within a reasonable driving distance. If your vacation plans include a trip to San Antonio to visit Sea World, Fiesta Texas, the Riverwalk, Natural Bridge Caverns, or the Alamo, we are minutes from IH-35, and an easy 25-minute drive to downtown San Antonio. Austin (the State capital of Texas) is known for its live music and numerous exquisite restaurants and is only a one hour drive. And don’t forget to visit San Marcos with its famous outlet malls and the Power Olympic Whitewater Kayaking center located on the San Marcos River.

Our Historic Home: Built in 1913, this beautiful home was once used as a bed and breakfast and has recently undergone major renovations to ensure you have all the conveniences of modern living blended with the charm of an old home.

This house can easily accommodate a large single family or two families – one on each floor. There are two master bedrooms (one on each floor), four bathrooms (two on each floor), four additional bedrooms (two on each floor), two living rooms (one on each floor), a main gourmet kitchen (located downstairs) as well as a kitchenette upstairs. Both front and rear yards are fenced in and pets are welcome outside.

The living room will make you feel right at home and includes all the modern day conveniences including cable television, entertainment/game center. The kitchen is fully furnished with all the essentials for your cooking needs. All bedrooms have linens and new beds for your comfort. We have everything you need to make your stay a comfortable and convenient one!

Great House for our Winter Golf Outing!

Hi Mike,

I just wanted to write a short note to let you know how much my friends and I enjoyed our stay at The Galle House in February. We get together every year on Superbowl weekend for golf and fun stuff and the house is perfectly located for both. The house is within walking distance to the downtown night life; lots of restaurants (try Huisache for sure) and live music venues, and it's only about a 10 minute drive to Gruene Hall and The Gristmill restaurant in one direction, and The Bandit Golf Course in the other. There was plenty of room for the five of us in the house. We each had our own bedroom, and we made good use of the backyard deck all weekend. We look foward to returning to The Galle House the next time we visit New Braunfels.

Easy and comfortable for kids and adults alike!

We rented the Galle House for a group of far-flung extended family members during a family wedding weekend. What a good thing that we did! We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The house was gracious and easily accommodated the many different ages and likes of our group. The children's highlights were the playscape (including a soccer ball) and the wii, the adults loved the comfortable sprawling furniture on which we had many catch-up converstions. We also loved the open and lovely kitchen - we prepped many meals in there. The sunroom was a joy with so much natural light pouring in. The architecture downstairs especially is beautiful. We loved this cozy, charming old house and can't wait to come back.

Charming home in a charming location

I spent two days in the house and was very pleased. The house was clean and extremely cozy. This house exceeded all expectations and I would love to go back. The house sleeps 14 people and never once did I feel as if that many people were there due to the size and number of rooms.

Awesome home!

Just spent a week at this house and couldn't have found a better place. It is roomy, comfy, cute, great location....only complaint is upstairs can get a little warm sometimes, but then again, it was 106 degrees all week. Overall, we had a blast and LOVED the house!!!
