Our luxury Santa Cruz vacation home exudes Mediterranean charm and is a few houses from the beach, offering a panoramic view of Monterey Bay. A short walk without crossing any streets leads to a staircase connected to the beach, and an outdoor shower awaits your return. Our Santa Cruz vacation home has 3 luxurious bedrooms, providing comfortable accommodations in beds for up to 7 guests. The spacious living room, the dining room and the master bedroom open onto an expansive rear deck. Oak floors, granite counter tops and cherry cabinets adorn this second floor unit; the two baths additionally have stone floors and walls. Both the master bedroom and living room have gorgeous gas fireplaces. Additional rental features include a 52 inch 1080P LCD TV and surround sound in the living room, a 40 inch 1080P LCD TV in the master bedroom, Blu-Ray Players for each TV, HD cable, and wireless internet. Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen, including a dual fuel range, plus a washer and gas dryer.

When our rear double pane windows are open, you can hear the rhythmic crashing of waves on the beach. In addition, we are well situated for Santa Cruz fun. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, where you can ride the historic Big Dipper and enjoy a great family outing, is about a 10 minute drive in one direction. Capitola, where you can walk down the pier or cruise around the local shops, is less than 3 miles in the other direction. The Santa Cruz harbor, where you can check out the lighthouse and some nice restaurants, and Pleasure Point, where you can experience some great surfing, are each only a short mile away. We are located 40 minutes south of the San Jose Airport and 1.5 hours south of the San Francisco Airport and 30 minutes north of Carmel and Monterey.

Bedrooms: The master bedroom has a Cal King bed, a romantic gas fireplace, a 40 inch 1080P LCD TV with a Blu-Ray player, a large walk in closet and a private master bath. A cozy loveseat is situated next to the bed with a view of the fireplace and TV. An exterior door in the master bedroom allows access to the rear deck with ocean views spanning almost the entire back of the house. One guest bedroom has a queen bed and a twin extra long bed and the other guest bedroom has two twin extra long beds. Each bedroom has a separately controlled heater. All exterior and interior bedroom walls are insulated.

Bathrooms: The private master bath has two sinks set in a granite countertop with iridescent hues, and a floor heater in the baseboard of the vanity. A walk-in, stone-lined shower is situated opposite the vanity and includes a stone seat, a shower head and separate hand spray, and glass block imaged with the Big Dipper in one wall. The guest bath includes a stone-lined tub and shower and a skylight.

Energy Efficient Home: Our beach house was remodeled with an eye towards energy conservation. All windows are double-paned and coated for UV protection. All exterior and interior walls, ceilings and floors are insulated. Honey-combed window treatments provide additional insulation. Each of the dishwasher, clothes washer and gas dryer is high efficiency, and a tankless water heater provides heated water only when needed so as to minimize energy consumption.

We stayed at the Allegra Villa for a long weekend in June when we visisted Santa Cruz and Monterey. The house turned out to be the highlight of our trip. It has a great view of the ocean, you can hear the sound of the waves at night. The beach is very close to the house and feels like a private beach, a good retreat from the more commercial Santa Cruz board walk or 17 mile drive. The house is full of top notch and brand new equipments, appliance and furniture. The owner has a real good taste to decorate the house. We've stayed at many vacation houses before, most of them tend to be rental quality. This one makes us feel like home as everything is so well designed, selected and of high quality. The owner is also very friendly and accommodative. We would highly recommend it for a romantic getaway! Any other use of the house would be fine but won't realize its full value.
