LUXURY DOWNTOWN HOUSE - 1 MILE TO CITY CENTER, LUCAS OIL, AND CONVENTION CENTER!

We pretty much adored this house. My family (myself, my husband, and our three and six-year-old) met my sister, her husband and their two-year-old little boy in Indianapolis because it's halfway between where we live in northern New York (us) and Oklahoma (them).

Not only did the owners go out of their way before we got there to make sure we'd have everything we needed for making the Thanksgiving meal we planned (including going through the insanely detailed list I sent), they ordered extra chairs for us so we could all sit together at the dinner table for our meal.

The house itself was beautiful, clean and has a great open floor plan. We set up a "play room" for the kids in the office with toys we brought from home, and the adults hung out and chatted in the kitchen and living room.

The kitchen is very well-appointed. We didn't have to bring much besides a few things very specific to preparing a big meal (something I doubt most guests would be interested in doing on their vacations!).

The bedrooms were good sized, though it would have been nice for us if there had been a double or queen bed in the middle bedroom instead of two twin beds since the kids all wanted to share the room with the bunk beds. That might be specific to our family, so it's not something I'd count off points for. Everyone had a place to sleep, after all.

The street where the house is located is one of the first neighborhoods on the way out of downtown. The houses are nearly all recently remodeled, and the apartment building across the way is absolutely gorgeous. We brought our kids' scooter and tricycle, which they rode to the park only a couple of blocks away on the first day to play on the playground.

We went downtown to Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis on Thanksgiving to take a horse carriage ride. The night after Thanksgiving, we were able to watch the Circle of Lights that took place at Monument Circle on TV, then run upstairs to watch the event fireworks from the deck in the master suite.

We took the kids bowling at a bowling alley across town called Expo Bowling Center. They had a HUGE alley with the leagues completely separate from the family bowling area, which was awesome. We went to the Children's Museum on a day the kids got in free to greet Santa as he slid down on a huge slide (my daughter got to sit right at the foot!). It would have been nice to have an extra day there. We absolutely loved Indianapolis and this house!
