The Home:
Our home is perfectly situated on a large 3/4 acre corner lot that is lakeview, lakefront, and waterfront property on Locust Lake in Locust Lake Village. The lot has an abundance of mature trees and foliage. Cathedral ceilings and contemporary modern architecture offer a lovely presentation in this spacious yet easy to maintain functional home. There are windows everywhere to capture the beauty of this area from each room. We love sitting on the deck at dusk to watch the gorgeous sunsets directly over and reflecting off the lake, and ample deck furniture is available for seating and dining. The loft with futon has a gaming area /TV for kids with gamecube and games. Master BR / Bath is on the 1st level; all other BR's are on level 2. Lake breezes make air conditioning necessary most of the time; however, we have 3 large floor fans just in case, as well as a ceiling fan. $250 Security Deposit, Must be 25 year old to rent, No pets, No smoking. Check-in time 3:00 pm / Check-out at noon.
Locust Lake Village:
This is a very friendly, safe, and laid back community where you can 'come as you are'. A large sandy beach is a very short walk from our home. The beach has a picnic area with barbecue pits, picnic tables, playground, concession stand, raft in lake, shuffleboard, bocci ball, lifeguards (summer only) and restrooms. Beach tags are required & available at the Village Office for a nominal fee. Canoeing and kayaking are popular water activities as well as fishing (license required) in the stocked lake. Vacationers love bicycling around the lake and throughout the village. There are numerous scheduled activities on the beach and at the Ski Chalet such as bonfires, holiday parties at the beach, weekend barbecues, daily supervised activities for children, and other festivities (check website at LocustLakeVillage.org). Tennis courts, basketball courts, a baseball field, and 4 additional lakes are within the village. A private ski area with T-bar lift is at the Chalet
Pocono Area:
There are countless attractions in the area from waterparks to outlet malls to ski resorts and nature related activities. Day trips to nearby White Haven offer excellent rails to trails mountain biking and hiking trails along the gorgeous Lehigh Gorge, where guided rafting tours are also available. Grocery shopping, restaurants, and unique retail shops are nearby. Numerous scheduled activities like concerts, wine festivals, and other entertainment is within close proximity. All information about the Pocono Lake area can be obtained from the Village Office. There is something for everyone!
