A spectacular ocean and countryside vista near la pequeña ciudad de Cabrera and Playa Grande. We invite you to relax by the pool or on the veranda that surrounds our home. Take a swim and rest your elbows at the edge with a view of the ocean or if you like, you can do some night swimming in the warm tropical trade winds. All living areas are spacious with high ceilings and light filled rooms. Open the oak doors and windows from the inside and you have the feeling of being outside. The property is graciously landscaped, while leaving a sense of the island's nature to the lower portion. There are two bedrooms in the main house and a separate private cabana/bedroom/ with it's own bathroom. It is just a short pathway to the great room with an open floor plan that includes the living, kitchen, and dining area.

The warm turquoise sea at La Playa Grande offers a beautiful vista, whales, boogie boarding and surfing. Food and drinks served to you on the beach. The Robert Trent Jones designed Playa Grande Golf Course http://www.playagrande.com/index.html is right next to La Playa Grande. Playa Diamonte is a lagoon type playa where spring water seeps under the sand and meets the ocean. Each playa is 10 minutes from our home. Five minutes from Playa Diamonte is Lake Dudu, a large spring fed pool surrounded by 20 foot cliffs and tropical vegetation. Cabarete has some of the best wind surfing and para-gliding on the island. You can walk or drive into the countryside and experience the lush green landscape and it's people who inhabit the interior. Just minutes down the road is 'La Catalina Hotel', an elegant older establishment that offers a full bar, breakfast, lunch, dinner, music and internet access. Cabrera offers restaurants, music, shopping, banking and internet.

Golf: http://www.playagrande.com/index.html Playa Grande is an unusually beautiful parcel of about 2,000 acres on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic , straddling the towns of Rio San Juan and Cabrera. The property has great topography, with hills and cliffs and 5 miles of exposure to the Atlantic Ocean, including a wide, mile-long beach. It is lush and undeveloped, with old trees and Royal Palms. On the western coast, Robert Trent Jones built his final golf course, cut into the cliffs over the sea. Underground springs supply abundant fresh water, and the neighboring land is small farms and forest.

Scuba-diving, Snokeling and Fishing: Scuba-diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, boat excursions at Laguna Gri-Gri, horseback riding, hiking, and tours to a local bird colony can all be arranged by our property manager.
