LES HIRONDELLES is a lovely old stone farmhouse complex in a quiet river valley just minutes from a beautiful medieval village with 12th century Templar buildings.

Les Hirondelles Cottage is a period barn conversion on 3 floors with exposed stonework and beams, comfortable furniture and new beds.

It has a small enclosed French style garden with alfresco eating terrace and a private entrance. There is gated access to the large communal gardens with multiple relaxing areas and a small plunge pool for cooling off. A full size pool is available at the hotel in the village (1 mile)

The River Vezere is just 50 yards away across our own meadow. The village is a lovely walk along the river bank or 2 minutes by car for your daily baguette. There is also a butcher, small grocery store with a tabac/cafe and 2 excellent restaurants. Large supermarkets are about 4 miles distant.

You will enjoy a wonderful vacation exploring beautiful chateaux and castles, sampling the local gourmet delights and wine, you can visit our great street markets with their wonderful fresh produce and every weekend there is a flea market in a town nearby.

For the more active of you there is fantastic walking and cycling, swimming and tennis at the local chateau, canoing and thousands of castle steps to climb!

We are 50 metres from our own river side meadow with 500 metres of private river frontage. Les Hirondelles is in a very tranquil location just 1 mile to the stunning medieval village of Condat sur Vezere which has basic amenities

We are close to all the major attractions of this wonderful area.

There are awesome street markets with incredible local produce and great restaurants.

A charming detached cottage in its own private garden with lovely views over fields and the River Vezere.

Just 2K from Condat Sur Vezere, a beautiful unspoiled medieval village with a boulangerie, butcher, bar/tabac and restaurants.

Supermarkets are just 5K away, wonderful shopping is available in Perigueux and Brive.

All the major sites of the Perigord Noir are within easy reach - the prehistoric sites of Rock St Christophe and Les Eyzies, the wonderful painted caves at Lascaux - just 5Km, the medieval city of Sarlat, the Templar domain at Domme as well as the countless castles and chateaux.

The Dordogne is known as the land of a thousand chateaux!!

There are wonderful street markets every day and countless restaurants to sample the local cuisine.

Wine tasting tours are available at Bergerac and Bordeaux and will you find time to canoe the Vezere and Dordogne, play golf, go paragliding or hot air ballooning, cycle thru the wonderful countryside or maybe just relax in the garden with a good book and a glass of wine.

Thank you for enabling us to have such an enjoyable and relaxing holiday. The gite had everything we needed and was very comfortable and homely. The garden too was fantastic - Space for the boys to run around freely and safely. They loved the pool and the hula hoop, Daniel has possibly set a new world record of 8:51 minutes! Thank you for your warm hospitality to join you and your family for wine and cake and to Lucy for getting my washing in when it - shock horror - rained that day. The weather more than made up for that the rest of the time 39 degrees today! There is so much to do in the area that we ran out of time to fit in everything we wanted to - we will just have to come back again. Your tips and advice on places to go and the folder of leaflets in the house were very useful.
Thanks too for the chess, wine and bread on arrival, it was much appreciated. We leave you with a little thyme plant to add to your herb garden, with our very best wishes

We have spent a great week in your lovely cottage. You made us very welcome and we felt very comfortable and relaxed. Olivia had lots of fun and will probably pester us to get a dog as she fell in love with Jimmy who is adorable.

Thank you so much for the 2 wonderful relaxing weeks we have spent here - we don't want to go home!
Megan has loved meeting all the animals and especially loved looking after the chickens, thank you so much Lucy for looking after Meg, I think she wants to stay here with you.
