We just returned from a wonderful three day family get-away with daughter, son-in-law and grandkids. We loved Betterton and the lovely beach which was just a short walk from the house. We found the house to be a charming home, reminiscing of a by gone era. Everything was clean with lots of room for the family. The weather was absolutely perfect so we had no need of air conditioning - just open the windows and enjoy the breeze from the Bay. We brought things for the grand daughters to occupy their time, but it wasn't necessary as there was more than enough things to keep them busy - beach toys too! If you cannot live without television, there is Dish TV. In short, we really recommend this lovely home and Betterton. If you like to get away from it all, this is a place to step back in time (and it is only twelve miles from Chestertown).
The homeowner was very responsive to my many questions. She was very nice and we paid via PayPal, booking the home was easy.
There aren't many places that allows pets, so the fact that we could bring our family dog was great. The home is RIGHT next to the beach, my family and I walked to the beach. The beach is pretty small, but it felt like a private beach to us, there wasn't anyone there the weekend we stayed.
The home is BIG.
No central air, but they have a bunch on window air units in the home, that makes staying during the humid summer totally comfortable.
This house was perfect with everything you need to have a very relaxing stay. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The beach was clean and not crowded.
My kids enjoyed searching for sea glass and rocks. We enjoyed the quiet nights watching the boats and walking the beach. Thanks again for letting us enjoy your home.....
We had relatives coming in for a wedding in Betterton, and secured this house so we could be together. It was lovely, clean, and well equipped with a big kitchen and good sized dining room. It is much more spacious than the pictures indicated, and there was plenty of room to spread out in. We rented a couple of cottages nearby as well, but this house served as our center of operation for cooking, and was a good redezvous point for trips to the beach, being within quick walking distance. The washer and dryer were very useful as well. We hope to come back again!
Stayed here for a week in July 2011. Coming from a big city, it was amazing how that as soon I got out of my truck all of the stresses just seemed to melt away. We went fishing on a charter out of Rock Hall the following morning and enjoyed our catch on the grill that night. There was plenty of kitchenware for us to cook our meals. Great place to ride bikes, run, and walk, especially with the a 15mos old daughter. House has some great amenities. Love the deck. Great neighbors. A very nice stay all around!
We went there with church members in july.
We all had a good and relaxing time.
The view was great and beach was near so that we could swim and also fish.
We would really recommand to those who needs a place for vacation.
All the directions and rules from reservation and leaving were easy and understandable.
