Nine acre horse farm overlooking Cape Cod Bay is occupied by owner, her three horses and two standard poodles. Rental is recently renovated studio apartment ideal for two. Property is surrounded by rolling hills, woods, great walking paths, and short walk down sand/shell driveway to swimming at Ryder Beach. House is 'living art' as was the subject of one of Edward Hopper's paintings entitled 'Ryder's House'.

My wife, dog and myself are experienced VRBO travelers. At Ryder Farm, we enjoyed all the animals and the soft approach of Harriet, the on-site owner. At first, we had trepidation about staying at a property where the owner was actively living. Within minutes were were comfortable with Harriet and her personality. She has a true sense of balance, where you enjoy a brief, easy conversation and then feel comfortable passing by her on the Farm without much more than a smile. And the place is way-cool. Just a small walk to the dunes and the expansive beach! The accommodations are 'beach' style, but comfortable. If you need a lot of "resort pampering", this may not be your style. If you enjoy rustic, country/beach time, animals by your window throughout the day, and a charming (& clean!) living space, you will certainly enjoy what Harriet has to offer at her Ryder Beach Farm.
Recommended for:  Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

The best vacation I can imagine

My wife and I stayed for a week at Ryder Beach Farm, and it was incredible. The cottage was cozy--it had everything we needed. The bathroom was so nice with a great shower and double sinks.

The animals on the farm made the trip so special: three horses, four dogs, two outdoor cats. We loved them all.

The property is so relaxing with rolling hills and a short walk to the beach. The stars at night were magnificent. Harriett, the owner, was great--we enjoyed talking to her each day.

Next year we want to stay for two weeks!

Farm House on the Beach a Perfect Getaway

Cape cod is an enjoyable summer getaway for most regardless of accomodations, but if you enjoy privacy, animals and the beach there is no better place the Harriet's spot. Tucked away in Truro a quaint beach community in the Cape, Harriet's house is a great spot for individuals or couples to enjoy the best of beach and farm life. Her dogs, horses and cats are friendly farm buddies and her property is filled with adventure trails the ebst being a 2 minute walk to the beach. My wife, dog and I loved our time there and took regular day trips 10 minutes to PTown and 15 minutes down to Hyannis (unless it is a Saturday afternoon on a beautiful summer day and everyone is driving into the cape). My wife and I totally fell in love with this place and would go back
