Beach comb, turtle watch or simply lay in the sand and soak up the warm Hawaiian sunshine. There is a crescent shaped reef providing a more sheltered swim area. Watch the Whales and surfers in the winter. Spectacular sunsets right from the front porch year round. Hau Tree Beach house has been in the family for 4 generations. Come step back in time to experience the beauty and relaxation our family love's and enjoys. You are 10 minutes North of Haleiwa town from restaurants and shops. You are 5 minutes south of Waimea Bay in the heart of the beautiful North Shore,Hawaii.

Relaxing Vacation: Jan 2008. It is hard not to relax in a place this beautiful. I've never been to Hawaii before - and what an amazing place to spend my first adventure. I saw some unbelievable surfing and I so much enjoyed the little blue lagoon. We'll be back Jill and Brad Calif.

NO - hau tree beach house

The worst rental experience ever! We have been renting properties for a long time – just didn't think it could get this bad with misleading information.
We believe people should know what to expect if they decide to rent this property.

Existing wireless stated in the listing but there is no wireless or any kind of internet connection.

The house is really dirty. The carpets are so dirty, it sticks to your feet.

There is a man living on the property and has a key to the main house and can access it anytime. On the third day, he entered the main house as soon as we left, when we came back he was doing his laundry and had thrown the laundry that we had put in there on the floor.

On location, we were told that the property was robbed a year ago and it’s not safe to leave doors and windows open but the property owner never mentioned that fact.

The bathroom window does not lock and stays open all day all night.

The property owner refused to answer our calls and emails after we decided to leave prior to our schedule departure.

We wouldn't go back to this property even if we get it for free.
Owner's Response: This reviewer did not stay at the proprety. His wife and 3 others did and were happy with the house when contacted on their arrival. The owners consciently notified them there was a tsunami watch for Hawaii 3 days into their stay. We would advise them on developments and not to panic. We called back to advise the tsunami watch was cancled and they had booked flights home and left the property. The reviewer, call from Calif to request items they had left behind when they left quickly, be shipped to them that the property was vacated. The caretaker who has a key enetered the house. The vacationers then returned to retrieve their forgotten items and found the care taker doing laundry. They subsequently requested a refund which is pending review with a key family member on vacation. This is a unfair review. The house is very clean, carpets cleaned reqularly. All bedding including the bed cover laundered between guests. The photo's on the site are up to date.

My family and I have been coming to the Hau Tree Cottage for years. This location is incredible. The protected reef out front creates a great area for snorkeling. Sea turtles frequent the the reef and make snorkeling off the beach in front of the house an amazing experience.

We also just loved sipping our morning coffee on the front porch and watching the surfers catch their morning quota of waves before they have to head off to work. I was even lucky enough to see whales breaching in the distance before!

Proximity to other North Shore activities and restaurants is good. You also pass a Costco on the way to the house, so you can stock up for the week on the way to the house.

My wife litterally asks me almost every month when can we go back.
