Log Cabin of our Dreams!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, two children age 12 and 10, and I spent a magical 9 days here during Christmas. Absolutely everything about this cabin and our stay was perfect. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by owners Tom and Julie, who gave us a quick tour of the home which was immaculate and beautiful. From the moment we entered it felt like home and I can't tell you how delighted we all were after a day of travel to walk in and see a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and a fire in the fireplace beckoning us to get comfortable. The cabin is cozy and warm with a perfectly rustic feel, while also being upscale and roomy. The home and grounds are absolutely picture-perfect and exceeded any and all expectations. The towns of Whitefish (eat at Tupelo Grill) and Bigfork (Showthyme was amazing) are charming and a close enough drive for dinner, but some of our favorite evenings were spent cooking dinner and relaxing at home. There is a firepit out back near the stream where my family delighted in roasting smores a couple nights, once while it was snowing! For sure some of our favorite memories of the trip! Every morning, waking up and looking out at the spectacular view, and at the various wildlife going about their business, was literally breathtaking. I cannot say enough incredible things about this cabin or the hospitality offered by Tom and Julie. We WILL be back!!!

Perfect 25th Anniversary trip!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week at Lake Blaine Resort celebrating 25 years of marriage. We do not use the word perfect on many occasions, but we both agreed that Lake Blaine Resort fit that bill. All of our needs were met and exceeded from excellent, beautifully decorated accommodations to the incredible setting for dinners under the lights of the pergola and morning coffee on the deck by the stream. We ventured away to hike in Glacier most days, and it was such a wonderful home away from home each night. Tom and Julie were there if we needed them, but gave us all the privacy we needed for this time away together. It is the perfect (there is that word again) spot for day trips to GNP or Whitefish. It is so wonderful that getting back into real life upon returning was very difficult!

Owner's Response: Leanne and Greg, You couldn't of been nicer guests. We are so glad your 25th was a happy one to remember. Had we known it was your anniversary, we would of had hats and horns to help you celebrate. We wish you the best and hope you will have many more celebrations to come. Fondly, Tom and Julie

Best part of our trip to Glacier

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four got to stay here for our trip to Glacier and I have to say that for each of us, staying in this house remains our favorite memory--the lodging is the favorite memory! Yes, it is clearly gorgeous (the pictures do not lie), but what the pictures can't tell you is how incredible it is to either look out the window or sit outside and just be in that awe-inspiring landscape. There is an eagle's nest in a tree just outside, so we saw it everyday, hunting. We saw a literally newborn deer and its mama, right in the field outside; wild turkeys ambled across the lawn, gobble gobbling to their (and our) hearts' content. Morning and evening in the brook outside we saw dozens of ducks / goslings on their daily commute. It was truly astonishing.

And it's quiet! You could hear all the animals; you could hear the wind in the leaves; you could hear the water gurgling.

The lawns are commodious and proved fantastic for our ten year-old to throw his football with one of us (parents); our younger child is a runner, and to have all that open space for him to run and expend energy was a godsend.

My husband loved most of all the views, but coming in a close second was the excellent wi-fi and humongous HDTV (yes, it's true). I loved the washer / dryer and the dishwasher, because I just don't want to go to a laundromat on vacation or wash dishes by hand ....

While I know this property is not ADA, I have to say it is remarkably close and very disabled-friendly. Our youngest child has significant ambulation issues and can neither ascend nor descend steps: there is a smooth, easy walkway from parking to the front porch which does have a step, but that's it. And there's a bedroom and full bath (with tub) on the main floor. Because it's an open concept design, he was able to navigate the first floor with hardly any issues, so for anyone who needs smooth, level spaces, this is the place!

Additionally, low frequency sounds (like from a lawn mower) trigger seizures in that child, and Tom (owner) so, so, so kindly altered his schedule to mow when said child wasn't in the house (when we were out touring). That's really something.

The house is ~20 min from the E. Glacier entrance and we found it a lovely, easy drive; we also easily were able to do as day-trips the Many Glacier and St. Mary's entrances, inc a must-see stop at the Museum of the Plains Indians in Browning. We poked around in Whitefish, Kalispell, and Hungry Horse, too.

We loved it.

Owner's Response: Brooke, We are delighted that your trip to Lake Blaine Mtn. Resort was a memorable vacation for you and your family. We can't take credit for Mother Natures' fabulous creations here in our valley, but at least we have been able to take advantage of this wonderful setting. We try and be considerate to all of our visitors and yet it's rewarding to have someone mention it. We can't thank you enough for your kind review. Our best to you and your family. We'd be delighted to have you visit again. Many thanks, Tom & Julie

Amazing Cabin in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

On our 2.5 weeks trip in US and Canada as a second destination we stayed at this beautiful cabin near the Glacier National Park.

We received a very warm welcome from Tom and Julie and enjoyed very much our stay. The cabin is beautifully decorated and has all what you can imagining of needing.

It is located next to small lake with a lot of wild life around. You can enjoy the patio with a barbecue and admire the scenery and wild life at the same time.

Really relaxing place to spend your holiday with amazing hosts.

Definitely can recommend this without hesitation!

Beautiful cabin in great location.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is absolutely gorgeous in a beautiful creekside setting location. The decor and amenities were top notch. Location was wonderful; 20 minute drive to Kalispell, which had all the businesses you would need. The owners live in a separate section of the cabin, joined to the main cabin by a laundry room with doors on each side that lock. They were extremely nice and were very concerned that we had a terrific stay. Owners had a nice stockpile of local activity brochures. We went to Glacier National Park and rode the historic red bus across the park- awesome time & the most beautiful NP I've ever seen.

Amazing Christmas ski cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

Tom and Julie were wonderful hosts! The cabin was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Julie did a perfect job in decorating a huge Christmas tree that stood in the great room by the fire. Everything we could have needed plus so much more! The location was great for skiing/snowboarding at both Big Mountain and Blacktail Mountain (approximately a half hour drive to either mountain). Returning to the cozy cabin with the big fireplace was the perfect way to end our ski days. This was one of the most wonderful Christmas get-a-ways our family has done in many years! Thank you Tom & Julie for sharing your beautifully appointed log cabin.
