I love to walk our road and look a all the beautiful homes and greet my neighbors. Sitting on the porch looking a the magnificent view of the lake and mountains. God's handiwork.

how grateful we are to have stayed in your home. It was such a nice, relaxing environment for us. I don't think we will be able to thank you enough for allowing us to stay here but we pray that the Lord will bless your home in a special way. Thank you and God bless
I just returned from a very relaxing stay at this house, and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Lake Santeetlah, especially if you prefer charm and a homey feel to the character-less 4-story vacation mansions that have increased in number on Lake Santeetlah in recent years. My boyfriend and I were looking to spend a relaxing long weekend on the lake, and this house gave us a great home-base for lots of hiking in Joyce Kilmer and Slickrock Creek, and some time playing on the lake.
The house itself is the perfect size for a couple or a smaller family. It has two floors, with a living area and bedroom on both floors. We primarily used the top floor, since it was just the two of us. But we easily could have invited another couple along with us, and they would have had the privacy of their own bedroom and kitchen-esque area. The feature we most enjoyed was the covered deck, which had a couple of rocking chairs, a swinging bench, and a picnic table. It rained off and on one of the weekend we were there, and it was so wonderful to be able to sit out, watch the rainclouds come in over the lake, and then listen to the rain fall while having a romantic dinner outside.
The easy lake access was also really wonderful. We rented a jetski from Deyton Camp one of the sunny days we were there (which, by the way, I would highly recommend--the husband and wife team running Deyton Camp are really wonderful people). We were able to dock the jetski at the house and take about an hour break for lunch. A note for people traveling with young children or who are unsteady--the dock is a more traditional wooden dock, and so the ramp up to the dock is a bit slick where it meets the water. We managed it just fine all weekend without any tumbles, but it is worth being mindful of!
Barbara was also really responsive during our stay. We called her twice with some questions, and both times she called us back almost immediately. Before going she was very patient with my questions and gave us all the information we needed. I really cannot say enough kind things about Barbara, and her home was almost as wonderful as she was. I'll definitely be checking back in with her the next time we come back to Lake Santeetlah.
Lake Santeetlah is one of those rare mountain lakes that were discovered a long time ago. Because of this, the lakeside cottage some of us remember growing up exist. These were the houses built to be used by family and friends in a day before the 5000 sq ft. lakeside mansions popped up everywhere and had charm and character. The owners would make improvements and sometimes expand the home as their families grew and the personal touches were everywhere.
The Lee house is one of these places and the owner made us feel like we were family friends coming in for the week to share the home and memories created all these years. The house was clean, the amenities exactly what we expected and the lake and views were perfect.
Thanks for letting us share this experience.
Organic farm in town, great flea market on Tuesdays in Murphy. Joyce Kilmer national park right around the corner.
