About Playa del Carmen: The entire Yucatan Peninsula is a remarkably popular tourist destination, but the area designated as the Mayan Riviera is the most heavily visited. Large cruise ships stop in Cozumel , hundreds of thousands enjoy a week or two at the all-inclusive resorts of Cancun, and many more opt for the peaceful pace and wonderful activities in and around Playa del Carmen.
Once a small and quiet fishing village, Playa del Carmen is a travel hotspot for the entire country. Though it has received attention from natives, Europeans and Americans, the town retains its village feel which is the reason that families, couples and groups all visit this safe and friendly location.
The main thoroughfare, known as 5th Avenue, has streets that lead directly to the beaches. Along the waterfront are the majority of the towns bars and clubs. These do not really become active until around midnight, and the Scene is considered relatively tame compared to that of the bustling destinations like Cancun.
More on Meridian 101: Just steps from the ocean this home is located just 150 meters from the sand of Coco Beach. This area of the Riviera Maya offers long, white, public beach with refreshing clear water for swimming or snorkeling. The public beach clubs of Mamitas and Kool, are just a 5 minute stroll down the sand where it is possible to reserve a chair, umbrella, or order from one of the beach club restaurants. Fees are a la carte and open to the public.
Because the Meridian, the building where this home is located, is situated between 40th Street and approximately 1st Avenue, it is just a quick 5 minute walk to the shops and restaurants of 5th Avenue. Renting a car is not necessary in Playa del Carmen, but there is one reserved parking space provided if necessary. Casa de Taheri is complete with a great location, well appointed home, and the ocean just steps away.

My family and I stayed there for the week of Nov. 11th 2013.. The condo is well located.. Very close to the beach, we loved the fact that it was at the end of the whole commotion of the main avenue.. There is an amazing local restaurant on the same street.. Great seafood!! The condo was ideal for our family.. It was well maintained and clean.. We didn't use the roof top pool but it looked nice.. There's only a few things that could have been better.. For one, we were given a cellphone and told that the concierge would be back the next day to add the minutes on it but he never came back.. Not that we really needed the cellphone but it would have been nice in case of emergencies.. Second thing was the shower, although they are extremely nice, the hot water was an issue.. We don't know if it was us being incompetent but when you first turned it on, it was extremely hot so couldn't get under right away although the cold water was on also.. Then it would adjust itself but it wouldn't stay warm for long... We couldn't really call anywhere and figure out how to not have to jump out when it got to hot and then run back quick to make sure we had enough hot water.. This is where having a working cellphone would have become handy.. However, these were some minor things to us.. as the rest (location, cleanings, friendly security, quietness, relaxing decoration..) compensated for the little mistakes.. It was an amazing place to call home.. Well we felt like we were!!
