Enjoy approximately 2500 square feet of a open floor plan with a huge kitchen and a eating area.
The home has several sitting areas with the most awesome view of the valley. The house is situated on a large lot facing east into the morning sun. It has two decks, one on front and a two tiered deck on the rear with BBQ.
Walking into the front door puts you in one of two living room areas on the main floor and looking into a large kitchen with a 4 x 6 island with a sink and dishwasher. The floor is finished with Brazilian Cherry hardwood throughout most of the floor.
The other sitting area is on the front of the house with three large windows to look in all directions of the valley. The main floor has a master bedroom and walk-in closet, as well as a large bathroom with a jetted tub washer and dryer.
Upstairs gives you two bedrooms, one being another large master bedroom with a walk-in closet and sitting area. The second room is also spacious and has a double bed and sitting area.
The bathroom possesses a double sink, vanity with mirror and a 4' shower.
The basement is finished with 9' ceilings and one bedroom with double beds., and the other room has a oversize twin bed. . The family room is spacious and has a large flat screen TV with DVD. The bathroom downstairs is a three piece with a shower.
My hubsband and myself moved to Drumheller in 1996 with a transfer with the Rcmp. We loved the historic community of East Coulee which he built this beautiful house for our family. Due to unforseen health with our adopted son in and out of the Childrens Hospital we ended up leaving this property sitting vacant. A dear friend suggested we turn this property into a vacation rental and here we are today. We will always be greatful to these friends as today this allows me to be flexible for son when he needs us. My hubi is retired from the RCMP and we own rental properties and run a construction business along with the vacation rental.
Kathy purchased this house in 2005
This property was built my hubi which was simply a gift.
First, red is my favorite color. The views are awesome and the quietness of the community is awesome.
Just wanted to thank you again for such a great stay. You are amazing hosts. We were most appreciative of your warmth, kindness and the "little touches" such as the email to let us know about the RCMP musical ride. Your home was very well appointed and it was a great place to sit back, visit and relax. MTrawick and 7 friends.
My friends and I wanted to find a place far away from the city to celebrate the New Year's eve and it was an excellent choice ! Would recommend it to anyone !
This was a great accommodation for my group consisting of my wife, kids (1 & 3) and my parents, with plenty of space for the kids to move around and play and was very clean, comfortable, and in great condition. The basement was nicely set up with games and dvds and was another great play area for the kids. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cutlery and cooking implements, along with some basic food stuffs such as oil, flour, and seasonings. There's also a propane grill on the deck which was nice to use. Grandma & grandpa stayed on the main floor bedroom, my wife and I took the master upstairs, and the kids stayed in the other upstairs bedroom which had 2 doubles and room for a pack'n'play. We all slept comfortably.
Although located SE outside of Drumheller in East Coulee, it was only about a 20 minute drive to Drumheller town centre making this a suitable base for excursions. A playground and the East Coulee school museum (which had a nice little cafe serving soup, sandwiches, and pie) were within eye sight of the house. The Hoodoos were also only a 7 minute drive away. The Royal Tyrrell museum was about a 25 minute drive away.
All in all, a great stay in a house that had everything we needed. My 3 yr. old didn't want to leave the "holiday house" at the end!
My friends and I were in Drumheller for a special event and stayed in this amazing 5 bedroom house for the weekend. Tons of room for everyone. We only had 8 but it's definitely roomy enough for 12. Dining room, living room, extra family room in the basement, too. We really appreciated the hundreds of movies in the DVD collection, being able to enjoy the sunshine on the front and back decks, the beautiful scenery, and the peace and quiet.
The hotel/bar about a block away serves up really good pub food.
Caution: those with Rogers cell service didn't have reception at the house, but gained it back on the highway towards Drumhellher.
We arrived a bit earlier than our agreed time and the homeowner was just finishing up. Her and her son were super friendly and made us feel like we should treat this as our home. The house easily accomodated our family of 5, my mother-in-law, and aunt and uncle. The house was extremely clean, and there were hundreds of movies on site for the kids to choose from. It was the ideal setup for our visit to Drumheller!
Excellent home for some quite downtime. Everything needed was provided and Kathy was very helpful in answering any questions we had. Located in the quiet town of East Coulee about 20 km from Drumheller so was great for a very quiet week-end for a large crowd (we had 7 people and could have easily accomodated 10-12 people). The house was very clean and had everything that we required. Would highly recommend this house to others.
With 5 adults and 3 kids, this house was the perfect setup for us. The owner and her son were just completing the cleaning when we arrived (a bit early) and they gave us a quick overview of the house and reinforced the idea that we treat the house as our own during our stay.
The TV area downstairs with the 100's of movies was great for the kids giving them their space while the adults visited in the living room on the main level.
Everything that we needed was there and in great condition.
Thanks for the no-hassle experience!
