1200 square THE SETTING. Peaceful and serene is how our guests always describe Rushing Waters Cabin, a foot rustic cabin sitting just feet from a rushing, meandering creek -- in a MAGNIFICENT SETTING! The creek borders the heavily-wooded 2-acre lot for 250 feet. The cabin is strategically sited where you get the best view of the creek. If you have never stayed creekside - this is the way to go -- creek runs right next to cabin and you hear it rushing all the time -- so relaxing.
WI-FI; New Flat Screen TV in living room with HD
Enjoy the views and sounds of the creek from the sleeping porch with its futon and gas fireplace, or from the comfort of the window seat or the comfy leather sofa in the living area, with its huge stacked-stone, wood-burning fireplace. The creek is lit so you can enjoy it in the evenings. There is also an outdoor firepit to enjoy a cozy fire off the deck and an outdoor dining area overlooking the creek. If you're at the cabin after a good rain you'll enjoy a roaring creek.
The cabin is located amongst a forest of tall trees and is heavily shaded creekside. The creekside is usually cool. Because of the creek and our elevation (about 1500 feet) its always cooler here - even in summer.
THE CABIN. The cabin is rustic, with cedar tongue and groove throughout, giving it the cozy, lodge feel you envision for a 'mountain cabin.' Modern open--plan living area, massive stone fireplace. Executive lodgings with rusic appeal. Cabin is decorated with style and comfort in mind (not grandmas's plaid sofa).
In the open living area you will find a comfy fine leather sofa and club chair, flat screen TV with HD, plus an 8-foot window seat that overlooks the creek. Indoor dining seats 4-6 and outdoor dining seats 6. Cabin has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and sleeps 4 in beds: the master bedroom has a king bed with a full bath, plus an electric fireplace; the second bedroom has a queen log bed. Quality beds are super comfortable. Window seat can sleep 1 adult or 2 small kids; full-size futon on the screened sleeping porch is available for those who want to 'glamp' by the creek..
Nothing but the best for our guests. High-count linens, plush towels, throws and blankets, lots of pillows; washer/dryer provided; kitchen is fully-equipped. Central air and heat. Games, cards, puzzles and books too. All the comforts of home. Our guests always comment on how we have 'everything'!
WIFI; Satellite television with DishTV 200+ channels and DVR available in the living room and both bedrooms. Flat screen HD TV in living room. UNLIMITED LONG DISTANCE.
PETS ALLOWED. We welcome your pets. We charge a 1-time pet cleaning fee, that's it. And not to worry --- home is aired out regularly and super clean - smells fresh and clean, no mustiness or pet odor.
Small children are OK but you MUST supervise them at all times.

What a wonderful cabin! Decorated beautifully, comfortable, quiet and secluded. Best part was the creek running so close to the cabin. Water was rushing the whole time we were there. We rode motorcycles and wished there would have been a massage showerhead in the shower for the sore muscles.
The road for Compass Creek Dr. was a very narrow road, only one car can travel at a time, and is about a mile into the woods after leaving the main road. We rode our bikes into Helen, Georgia and the mountains were beautiful. Alpine village is definitely worth seeing.
Our stay at Rushing Waters was more than we could have hoped for. It was clean and comfortable, stocked with everything we needed and the location was absolutely breathtaking. The area had so much to offer and is also so close to so many places. In addition to exploring Hayesville we went to Gatlinburg and Dollywood in Tennessee, Black Rock Mountain State Park in Georgia, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Asheville, North Carolina. All close enough for day trips. I'm sure every season is beautiful but I don't think anything can beat seeing those places in the fall. Everything was as great as Annie said it would be. Our only regret was not spending more time in the cabin!! Next time though, as this was surely only our FIRST trip to Rushing Waters!!
Quaint and cozy cabin in a wonderful location. The sound and sights of the creek were spectacular, and can be seen through the living room sliding doors by the fire on cold winter days. The surrounding area is nice and Ingles is a great grocery store - even picking up some things to take home with us that we can't get here in our area. Our dogs had the best time running through the woods, going for walks, playing in the snow and drinking from the creek. We have stayed in many VRBO NC & GA cabins over the years and my older teenagers declared it their favorite of all. It was nicely appointed with lodge style furniture and decor, but I'm only giving it 4 stars because it wasn't as spotlessly clean and stocked as others have been. Still had a really great time and would like to return during the spring or summer months.
On our first night there was a mix up. We were locked out of our cabin and it had not been cleaned. We had to get someone down the road to make phone calls. We got in via a neighbors spare key and the cleaner arrived shortly after. We got settled in at 6:30. The rushed cleaner did not complete her job. The owner gave us a partial refund for one night to make up for the inconvenience. When Saturday came we had a wonderful time. The stream is very soothing and relaxing and almost right on the back porch. We brought our own wood and had a fire every day. It is a very spacious cabin. We used one bathroom (master) as "hers" and the other as "his". They were both full baths. The King bed in the master room sleeps very hard. After Friday night on it, we slept the last 3 nights on the queen bed (much nicer sleep). A fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal. Gas cook top was a nice experience, but the oven was dirty (due to the mishap when we had first arrived). We took our own stainless steel pan and a cast iron pan because we don't cook off of teflon coated pans. There were plenty of plates, glasses, silverware, along with lots of other gadgets. There were TV's all over the place. Once we figured out how to work the one in the main living area we watched a little TV. We watched a total of about 4 hours TV the entire 4 days we stayed. We were more interested in enjoying the fireplace, stream, long walks down the country road, than TV. A few days before your stay, email the owner to make sure the cabin will be ready. If it had not been for the Friday night fiasco and lax cleaning due to a rush job, I could have given this stay in this wonderful cabin in such a nice location five stars. We only ate out one night at the Rib Country restaurant. Their BBQ pork was excellent along with the sides and service. There is a very nice Ingles not too far away (huge, clean store with lots to offer). I recommend going to this cabin for a get-way and recommend cooking your own meals and enjoying a fire and Rushing Waters Creek.
We had such a relaxing time at Rushing Waters cabin. The name of the cabin aptly describes the setting. The creek was the best part of the whole experience. The cabin was only about 8 or nine miles from Hayesville where we got our food supplies and enjoyed an outing. It's also not real far from Murphy and the J.C. Campbell Folk School which are favorite stomping grounds for us.
It was peaceful and lovely with easy hiking trails and interesting "water bridges". Something we had never seen before. The water actually went over the bridge.
Our dogs had a blast and we felt safe letting them run off leash to explore with us.
The rooms were clean and well appointed. Not a luxury cabin but by all means cozy and comfortable.
Wonderful area with lots to do close by. If you like a relaxing, kicking back, reading a book, listening to the wonderful sounds of the rushing creek then this is for you. Or, if you want to see the sights, eat great food, go tubing, take a drive and see spectacular views of the Blue Ridge and Smokey Mountains, then this is for you too! Close to Lake Chatuga with swimming and boating and the town of Hayesville with the hometown atmosphere. There are lots of good restaurants. We particular enjoyed the pizza place in downtown Hayesville and the local deli on route 69 where they have great sandwiches and on most mornings biscuits and gravy breakfast for only $1.00. The local Hayesville diner offers a Friday night catfish/haddock all you can eat for $8.95. Can't beat that. Hayesville offers entertainment and lots of activities on the common on most nights. This home is placed in a lovely wooded area that is quiet and private. We cooked out on the grill and enjoyed sitting by the fire pit. The beds were comfortable and the décor was great. Plenty of room in the kitchen for cooking and entertaining. We enjoyed getting out of the hot August heat of Florida to the cool hills of North Carolina and plan on returning again next year.
Golf: Lots of beautiful mountain-view golf courses in Georgia and North Carolina mountains nearby. The Ridges Golf Resort outside Hayesville has re-opened and is 5 minutes from the cabin. Lake Chatuge Shores Golf Club (15 minutes) and Brassville Resort (20 minutes) are also nearby. Come enjoy a mountain vacation in an enchanting setting in a cozy cabin in the mountains, with easy access to some wonderful golf resorts.
