About the host
Hosted by Booking Jesus Rodriguez/ Administrator Barnaby Chavez / Owner Manager Liz Cottle
The owners are Bill and Liz Cottle. Bill was born in Peru and is of British descent; Liz is from the United States. She came to Peru in 1979 and fell in love with the exotic and magical place that is Peru. They began Lizzy Wasi in 2006, inspired by the magical aura found only in the Sacred Valley of Cusco. They enjoy meeting and taking care of their guests. Their motto is, “Come as a guest, and leave as a friend.”
Why they chose this property
Situated amongst magnificent landscapes and a stunning mountain view, Lizzy Wasi offers a refined yet cozy ambience, perfect for families or couples. Family-owned Lizzy Wasi takes pride in giving personalized attention to each of our guests, making you feel at home. Enjoy your time in the authentically decorated rooms, relax in our gardens, and have a delicious home cooked meal. After a full day of activities, our guests can return to their comfortable rooms with hot showers; perhaps enjoy the SPA, have a delicious lunch or dinner by the fire, or a few drinks around the fire pit or in the beautiful gazebo, that will make your stay unforgettable.
What makes this property unique
Lizzy Wasi is strategically located in Urubamba, capital of the Sacred Valley of Cuzco. At 8,860 feet above sea level, our geographic location is perfect for adjusting to the altitude (Cusco city is 11,155 feet above sea level). Our front door opens to an Inca Trail, giving guests the best of both worlds: peace and charm, yet we are only a 15 minute walk from the town’s main square. If Machu Picchu is on your “to do” list, the train station in Ollantaytambo is a mere 20 minute drive away, and the Tambo del Inka station is 4 minutes away. From here, it’s a 1 ½ hour ride to Machu Picchu. As for other important archeological sites, Chinchero is 30 minutes away, and Ollantaytambo as well as Moray and the famous salt mines of Maras are a 20 minute drive. Pisac is a 40 minute drive away.
