'DREAM HOME' BORDERS WHITEFISH DUNES PARK, PRIVATE SAND BEACH - WIFI

We spent one of our nicest family vacations here in August 2012. The home was perfect for our 3 families. We all like to cook so we enjoyed the nice kitchen area – we had seats for all 14 members of our group. The house is big enough that we never felt like we were on top of one another. There is the rec room, great room and several other rooms. Our favorite place to hang out and relax was on the sand beach. The depth of the water increases very gradually so it is very safe for the toddlers in our group. You are also able to walk for miles in either direction. The beach has beautiful, clean white sand. Our older kids loved swimming in the waves and making castles out of sand. We did have an issue with the hot tub during our stay but the owner was very quick to respond. We are looking forward to coming back in the near future.

We just wanted to let you know what a fantastic time we had at your beautiful home. What a slice of heaven you have there. We absolutely loved all the large windows and skylights. The home was so much more than we expected. We felt right at home and really hated to leave. Enjoyed walking around the area with Nugget and loved hearing the roar of Lake Michigan.

Your home was decorated nicely and loved the big pieces of driftwood on the wall and next to the fireplace. The "crows nest" was unbelievable???? What a great idea.

We could go on and on but we really just want to thank you so much for the use of the house.

We can't wait to come back and bring friends.

We stayed at this property for a week in August 2011 for a family reunion. This was an awesome place for us – there was plenty of room for all 3 families and the large table in the Sunroom has seating for 10 with a snack bar with seating for another 3. Our kids loved the Rec Room, the Crow’s Nest and playing in the sand just off the back deck and of course on the beach. It is just a short walk to a very clean, sandy beach. The water was actually pretty warm and body surfing in the big waves was great. Our kids loved making sand castles. The property is directly on the borderline of the Whitefish Dunes State Park so we spent some time hiking the beautiful Whitefish Dunes Park trails and exploring the Whitefish Dunes State Park. We spent some time visiting neighboring communities for meals and ice cream trips but we were always anxious to get back “home”. We wanted for nothing and the property manager was very responsive when the dishwasher malfunctioned – it was fixed the same day. We played dozens of games of Ping Pong and shot some darts as well. The views throughout the home are incredible through oversized windows, glass sliding doors and sky lights. The home has all the modern conveniences and a huge supply of dishes and cooking utensils. This was very important for us because we dined in all but 2 nights. We have a lot of great memories from our trip and look forward to returning for our next family reunion. If you make the trip to Door County be sure to dine a Glidden Lodge (just 1.5 miles away) and if you like Family Style Chicken be sure to eat at the Mill Supper Club. The Hitching Post is also very close and casual – great place for a burger and a beer.
