Nice location

Having the dunes on one side, and a view of Lake Michigan sunsets was beautiful. Beware that you will hear dune buggies in the distance. It didn't bother us at all, and in fact was fun to watch ... but some may not like it. Having the dunes right there for hiking/playing was great. We had a really fun afternoon flying kites out there too with all of the kids & adults.
The house wasn't as clean as we would have liked when we arrived, but the worst problem was that the upstairs bathroom has a serious sewer odor coming from the closet that permeated into the rest of the bathroom and sometimes the bedroom. The rental management folk did their best and were very responsive to our needs, but the odor is a longer term problem that really needs to be fixed properly.
I would have given the property a 'good' if it had been cleaned better and we didn't have a few other minor issues (which the staff addressed immediately), and excellent if the bathroom odor didn't exist. Again, the rental staff was nice to work with.
Owner's Response: this is a brand new home and the plumber 'forgot' to install an 'air remittance' valve in the sewer vent apparently it backs up when the wind was out of the south west, which was not often..we found it, fixed it, but too late for this guest..not good. Our maintenance man visited that property nearly every day to find and work on that problem and to make sure our guests were happy as they said they were upon departure.. much to no avail.
I would take exception to the 'not cleaned as well as we would ahve liked' it would have been helpful for the guest to have said something when they arrived....we work very very very hard to see to it that all our properties are very clean. as this was when this guests checked in..it probably did not feel clean when they had to put up wiht the smell..but and I repeat that problem is fixed.
