We were attending a Saturday wedding in the area. The house was comfortable and roomy for a group of five adults. The location is convenient to downtown New Paltz. You can walk on the rail trail to the downtown area. It was very nice that the owner provided coffee/tea, milk and eggs for guests. The owner was responsive to any questions that we had about the property.
Upon initial entering of the property, it appeared more updated and inviting than the pictures showed. The house was equipt with everything you would need in a house. The eggs and milk in the fridge, the coffee/tea station, pantry items and choice of shampoo, conditioner and body soap were a few nice touches and plenty of towels were provided. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed in the cleanliness of the home. The dishes, linens and towels appeared clean but the house itself was only spot cleaned at best, it needed a good deep cleaning, something I was not planning to do on my trip but wound up doing in the kitchen and upstairs bathroom to feel more comfortable in the space for a few days; thankfully there were plenty of cleaning supplies. It also would have been nice if the grass in the backyard was mowed for our dog. Needless to say, I was a bit annoyed that I was charged a cleaning fee. The house is in a very convenient location; in walking distance to the town, walking trail and a 5 min. drive to SUNY New Paltz. Overall, it was a nice place.
We have nothing but great things to say about this beautiful farm house type home. Very clean with great attention to detail by the owner - little things like lots of soap, shampoo and towels (towels were amazing), lots of coffee, eggs, milk and fruit, silverware, etc. Unlike many homes you rent, this one felt like you were entering your own home. A unique home and property too, just so different. New Paltz can be a bit noisy near the college - this location is close enough to walk there, but very peaceful - a beautiful street, property and home. We will be back for sure and want to thank the owners for letting us stay at their amazing place!!
The property was in the perfect location for our weekend plans. We were only about 10 minutes away from the Gunks for outdoor climbing. Also, hiking trails were right down the street.
We were also within walking distance to the heart of New Paltz with access to restaurants, shops, and bars.
The house itself was as pictured. However, wasn't very clean. Many areas were dusty and bathrooms could have been cleaner. Beds weren't very comfortable but it was only a couple nights.
Overall the stay was fine since we weren't at the house most of the time. The location provided easy access to climbing, hiking, wineries, distilleries, restaurants and shops.
