There's something for everyone! Stroll 3 blocks west to lively South Congress SoCo, filled with fantastic restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and music venues. Stroll 3 blocks east to Big Stacy Park equipped with 3 acres of walking trails and a heated, spring-fed swimming pool. Why Dani or Joel chose Austin

When we found it, the 'little red house' wasn't red. It was dirty grey and literally sinking into the ground. After a massive renovation effort we brought it back to life and restored it to better than original. Nearly 100 years old, this jewel of Texas history is the perfect place to call home as you explore Austin's most popular neighborhood.

Perfect place to stay in Austin

Absolutely perfect location for a mom / daughter girl's weekend in Austin. We came from Michigan, Illinois and California to be together and had an awesome time around the South Congress area, which is just a couple of short blocks away from the house. In fact, almost everything is within walking distance, including the Capital, 6th Street, and the bats of the Congress Street Bridge. The house is adorable, well maintained and has great amenities. The neighborhood is one that anyone would love to live in, let alone, vacation in. Short drive to Barton Springs (like maybe 10 minutes) and another short drive to the University of Texas LBJ Library rounded out a great weekend. We felt very lucky to get this house and highly recommend it to anyone.

So Adorable

My friend and I planned a girl's trip to Austin and wanted to stay where we could easily access Austin's shopping, eating and nightlife. The bungalow was the perfect solution for where to stay. There were no surprises with the bungalow other than it was even better than expected. We were so close to Soco and had a fabulous time exploring the area and the rest of Austin. We especially loved the Elizabeth Cafe, the Magnolia Cafe, and The Continental. We had such a good time that we hated leaving! Thank you Dani and Joel!

Wonderful Stay at the Red House

My family and I stayed at the Red House over new years eve and we couldn't have been happier! The house was clean and bright and had a nice open floor plan in the kitchen and living room and two nice sized bedrooms with big comfortable beds and fresh clean linens.

We were traveling with two small children and the house was very child friendly. Our older child stayed in the front bedroom and we stayed in the master in the back, which had plenty of room for our travel crib. We could have easily accommodated another person or couple in the sleeping loft and the backyard and mudroom with washer and dryer were great bonuses.

The location of the house is also excellent, only a few blocks from the shops, restaurants and food trucks on South Congress. And the nightly rate for this two bedroom house was actually less than some of the one bedroom hotel rooms in the area for the same time period.

Overall we were very happy with our decision to stay here and were very satisfied with both the house and the overall customer service of the owners.

Great getaway!

This was the perfect house for us! We stayed in Austin for Christmas and this was a very clean and comfortable place for us. The owners were very receptive and graciously accommodated us when came in a day early. It is a stroll down the street to great restaurants and shops. Our son really enjoyed the loft area! He felt like he had his own treehouse escape! We would definitely stay in the Red House again! It is a home away from home in the most adorable neighborhood!

Wonderful House! Great Owners!

We stayed at the red house and had an outstanding trip! The house was clean and well maintained, perfect for our family. The beds were very comfortable, we slept wonderfully and all the amenities worked well. The location was great, allowing us to walk to stores and restaurants only a few minutes away. The owners were extremely accommodating and easy to contact. Although we didn't have any issues, I have no doubt they would have been more than happy to help make any arrangements we needed. We will be staying here again the next time we visit Austin and would recommend this house to anyone that is visiting.
