Welcome to Haynies Hideaway!! Our cabana is perfect for a couple, or family with 1 small child, or a couple of fishing buddies. The vaulted ceilings and big half moon window make our place very bright,open and roomy.

You are just steps from warm blue waters, and an endless stretch of beach. If you like to get up and walk out your door, and just a few steps away look for shells or cast a line, this is the place. We have a well-lighted fish cleaning table, private walkway to beach, picnic tables, outdoor grills and of course an outdoor shower.

Our unit is a 1 room studio, located among 39 other stand alone units located right on the ocean. We have 3 private decks and from the top deck you can actually see both sound and ocean. We supply 21' cable TV/DVD player, CD/Stereo, stainless steel microwave, full stove, full size refridge with ice maker, all utensils,pots pans, blender, pillows, mattress pad and comforter.

Our sleeper sofa is queen, and its wide enough that our daughter sleeps on the sofa without pulling the bed out. 'Very comfy'

Outdoor furniture includes table 4 chairs, picnic table and Adirondack chairs. We have just added two large deck chairs on our upper deck that are perfect for star gazing or enjoying a romantic night with that special someone.A guest storage locker is available for our guests to store boogie boards, beach chairs etc.Basically just add FUN!!!

About Terri Haynie

My husband Kelly and I have loved the Outer Banks for many years. We stayed in many different places. Our aunt had bought one of the cabanas back in the early 1990's and we stayed for a weekend and we were hooked.What a great place. On the beach, affordable, small but has everything you need. We have 1 daughter, who loves the beach too. Hatteras Island is our home away from home and we take great pride in keeping our place modern and well equipped. Our cabana is professionally cleaned, and we want it to be special and memoriable for our guests.My husband loves the water, fishing, and boating. I'm more of a land lover, but I do love going on the boat around the sound and fishing for the smaller fish. Hatteras really has everything, especially if you love the outdoors, adn nature at its finest!!!

Why Terri Haynie chose Hatteras

It's a very easy non stressful drive down Hwy 12 to get to our cabana. After you leave the Nags Head area is about 60 miles. I must say some of the prettiest scenery you will ever see. Hatteras is very remote and has some of the best off shore fishing. Actually several people have won the local fishing tournaments just fishing in front of the cabanas. WE have had so many adventures on the beach in front of our cabana. WE have seen whales, dolphins, and little harbour seals.Lots of treasures has been found too, especially after a storm!!!There is a small maritime museum down the road, hatteras lighthouse in Buxton, also many local art galleries and local eateries. You can just jump on the Ferry and spend the day at Ocracoke too.

What makes this cabin unique

The best thing we liked about our cabana was it was affordable, on the beach and we didn't have to rent a big house with a bunch of people. We are so close to the beach that once you need a refill on a cold drink or you want a sandwich just a short walk to the cabana and you can get it. Our beach is our backyard and we love it. Voted in the top 10 beaches in the U.S. for many years now this is a must see!!!

Our cabana is located on Hatteras Island in Hatteras village.It is in the Hatteras Cabana complex, and is a stand alone structure with parking under the cabana.The Cape Hatteras National Seashore is right out front. Awesome for surf fishing, swimming,sea shell finding, or just kicking back with a good book and watching the dolphins swim by.

There are several family owned art galleries, local eateries, coffee shops and surf shops located close by. If you want to experience the thrill of hooking a game fish there are several top notch marinas in town, where you can go off shore for the day. Our cousin has the local flying service and for a small fee, he will fly you around the area to get a birds eye view. 'Burris Flying Service'Hatteras Island is becoming one of the premier locations for weddings. So if you want a beach wedding consider coming to this very special place.There are many walking trails, alot of bird watching sites, and 2 museums.Please check out www.islandfreepress.org for up to date information on the island.

We celebrated or 10 year anniversary here. It was our first trip to OBX and we picked the perfect place to stay. The cabana is just right for two and the view on top is beautiful. The owner was great to deal with and everything was exactly as described in the VRBO ad. We loved taking the ferry to Ocracoke Island and walking on the beach.

AMAZING VACATION!!!

This was our 2nd stay at Haynie's Hideaway in the last 11 months, and it's hard to believe, but it was even more enjoyable than our 1st visit. Just steps from the ocean, we spent many a memorable day enjoying the sun and surf....with picture perfect weather. The cabana is very well appointed with lots of storage for your personal belongings and impeccably maintained. The decor of the cabana is lovely. The owners know exactly how to make their guests comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the basics and more. Nightly fires on the beach sipping wine under the stars and even a full moon, what more could you want?? If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, Hatteras Village is the place to be and Haynie's Hideaway is the place to stay. We wish our vacation wasn't over already and are already planning our next trip. You surely won't be disappointed!!!

Everything was just as described. Cabana was clean, and well equipped. The owners were good to work with, had quick response to emails and prompt return of deposit. Will definately stay again, best value on the beach.

PERFECT RELAXING GETAWAY!!

Haynie's Hideaway is "all that and more". Perfectly appointed, well stocked with everything a vacationer could want or need and more. What a great place to relax and have fun. Sunrise on the beach was spectacular and nightly fires on the beach, complete with s'mores and a sky full of stars couldn't have been more relaxing. Even when we had some rainy/colder weather, sitting inside playing Scrabble and listening to music (all provided by the owner) was very enjoyable. This is definitely a place we plan on going back to time and time again. Thank you Haynies for such a wonderful and memorable vacation!!
