Beautiful Cedar Sided Home on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix

When we first looked at the home, it was a bit difficult to see the potential of the interior. An inefficient layout, purple sinks, walls and carpets and a collection of taxidermy ferrets did not create a welcoming environment! But the moment we walked out on the decks, we saw past all of the quirks and fell in love! The decks and the dock totally sold us......having a large enough deck to accommodate the whole family with a sunset dinner overlooking the lake has been the best feature of our home. John is a fantastic cook, so we enjoy his grilled creations, fish fries (John Cross Whitefish caught daily out of Charlevoix is the best for a summertime fish fry), super big sandwich lunches and yummy morning frittatas. The deck is also the favorite spot for late night card games, sunbathing with a book or enjoying a peaceful morning coffee.

The South Arm of Lake Charlevoix is perfect for family fun because it is not too crowded and the water generally stays pretty calm. The area right off of our dock is perfect for water skiing, tubing, potoon boat rides, and sailing. For more adventure, you can swing out to the main part of Lake Charlevoix (about 30 mins via power boat) and then on to Lake Michigan (another 45 mins via power boat).

With a lot of vision and hard work, John totally renovated the interior and we are now proud of our comfortable, clean, and much more efficient layout. It may not be as inspiring as the view from the decks, but it is definitely not too shabby:)

We are so lucky to have Swan Valley Marina right next door! As first time boat owners, we relied on their help and guidance for the first few years. Now, it is so convenient for our guests to walk over to rent boats, kayaks and jet skis. They also sell ice, snacks and other essentials.
