5 Bedroom cottage sleeps 9, 1 & 1/2 bath,outdoor shower,

Walk out the door, down the steps to the beautiful LI Sound beach. This is an original, comfortable cottage. There is a boat launch, clay tennis court, children's playground nearby. Bring your boat to fish the Sound, your kayak to leisurely explore the coastline, nearby islands, bird sanctuary (herons and egrets abound) and other beaches. There is a swimming raft moored out front.Great neighbor & family neighborhood. Located in a private community.

'Mother's' beach is just a gentle, end of block stroll; opposite the freshwater pond. perfect for young children to dig and splash - cast for sunnies and bass in the f pond-, look for turtles, visit historic pet cemetery.crabbing from the rocks and docks.

Kayakers can explore coastline & adjacent scenic Pattagansett River and islands.

Large indoor porch to sit and read, paint or snooze.The picnic table is waiting for your lobster feast. Striped bass have been caught right in front of the cottage.

Bedroom detail.

Two bedrooms with have full size beds are furnished with antique cottage furniture and face the water.

The two bedrooms with twin beds are spacious and comfortable

The bedroom with one single bed is small and on the first floor. It has been used for an older parent and an au pair.

Beautiful view,wonderful people, great week. This is a perfect spot for a young family or if you want a relaxing getaway. It is rustic, including the amenities, but that is part of the charm. Upsides are too many to list, only downsides are no Wi Fi, no air conditioning , we had a very hot week despite the fans, and it is very rustic for the price. Plenty of activities near by or can do absolutely nothing, it's up to you.

Summer 2011 was our 3rd summer in a row using this cottage and every year has been perfect. This cottage has the perfect balance of beach access, historic charm, and is well equiped for large meals. The beach is perfect if you have young children as we do as they can explore the entire private beach and never be out of sight. Even on the best days, the beach is never crowded. The kids can't get enough crabbing on the rocks, and the adults (once again) pulled about 40 pounds of clams out of the river within walking distance to the house. This house is a gem, and Mary & Bob are great hosts.
Recommended for:  Families with Young Children

Please keep my $500 as my deposit for the first week – We will be will be sending you another check to cover the deposit for the second week.
We had the best time at the beach!! The weather was just perfect – the grands went crabbing every day, kayaking with Pop-Pop, boat rides with a new friend, the movies and bingo at the club house, etc, etc.
The water was wonderful – not too cold and no jelly fish! It truly was the perfect family vacation.
Thanks for another great vacation at you cottage. Talk to you soon!

Great Cottage, Great Experience

Our week (Aug 2009) was amazing, it is a quiet and friendly beach and was so convenient for the 3 small children who visited. The cottage easily slept 6 adults and their children. The nearby playground was a bit hit when the kids needed a break from the beach. Even the toddlers could walk to the rocks and go crabbing. We harvested over 20 pounds of clams from up the street and made our own chowder outside. Everyone enjoyed swimming to the raft and basking in the sun. We love to cook, and the house is perfectly stocked with equipment pots/pans, gadgets, and spices, even all the lobster necessities. The outdoor shower was a big hit with the kids after the a day on the beach. Mary and Bob are great hosts and we will certainly be booking again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
