Great for August trip with 8 year olds!

There are many wonderful things about this apartment. First, all of the owner and his representatives were friendly and helpful. As soon as we booked, they emailed a detailed pdf file with everything we needed to know about the apartment and the building. Until we arrived, they responded quickly and completely to every email. After we checked in, they left us alone, all the while making it clear we were free to call with any problems or questions.
The apartment is on the 18th floor of a very well managed and maintained building. (Le Periscope). It was secure without being oppressive. It was a very stylish, modern building with a Montreal Expos vibe. There were separate elevators for odd and even floors and we never had to wait long for an elevator. We selected this apartment because of the swimming pool, which our twins just loved. It helped sell the trip to them and helped convince them to keep trudging along with their boring parents. The pool was clean, roomy and fantastic in the August heat. Just make sure to pack a speedo and buy a swimming cap at the junk store down the street.
As for amenities, the apartment was comfortable, even without air conditioning. There is a monoprix grocery store on the ground floor, a fabulous boulangerie directly across the street, and a street market outside the door two days a week. There were several excellent cafes nearby and Paris' Chinatown was only a block or two away. Given the state of the dollar, being near Chinatown and its inexpensive restaurants was fantastic, especially for the evening meal after a swim. The restaurant "Victoria" was one we recommend. There is also a McDonalds nearby, although we were cool and went to Quick (burger) instead!
We found the 13th arrondisement very interesting and could have spent our entire trip exploring the neighborhood. It was very easy, however, to get to any area of Paris in a short time as there were two metro stops within a block or so of the apartment and a bus stop just outside.
We really liked this apartment and would definitely stay here again.
