Upper East Side Vacation Rental apartment

This clean, upscale apartment is perfectly located in one of the best spots for seeing New York. It is virtually surrounded by restaurants, is close to the subway, the neighborhood has a friendly feeling, and it's quiet.

The owners are helpful and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The apartment has every convenience as well as a doorman and concierge, both of whom were helpful in pointing out local attractions.

The Museum Mile is within walking distance as is its primary attraction, the Metropolitan Museum. Be sure to see the often overlooked Frick Mansion on East 70th and Fifth Ave. It is one of the most user friendly art museums in the city.

If you're in NY for the first time buy a subway pass. We bought a seven day pass and it allowed us unlimited travel on the subway and buses. New York is a great walking city, but there comes a time when getting around is preferable with public transportation.

There's a wide choice of restaurants in the area. For that one-time special place, try Lusardi's at 78th St and Second Ave. Pricey, but first rate quality.

We have stayed in many places in New York. We'd go back to this apartment any time.
