Quiet Get Away at a Value

I was skeptical after reading the other review about this cabin, but I decided to take my chances. It looked so nice in the pictures.
Cabin Description Accuracy: The cabin looks exactly as it does in the pictures. It is a perfect, small get away that's close to town and activities. The indoor hot tub is amazingly calming and relaxing. We didn't use the fireplace or the grill, but I assume they work. I would suggest that you bring extra towels if you are staying for more than a couple of days. The dishes looked a little old and worn, but we just brought disposable utensils and dishes. That worked out for us, because neither of us wanted to clean on our vacation. The couch is a sleeper sofa. If you are going to be using it I would advise bringing some cushioning, because it is extremely uncomfortable. We used it only when watching the television. Do be careful when driving on the steep hill. We did make it in my Buick Regal, but it is a rough drive.
Cleanliness of Property: The cabin looked like it had been cleaned after the last visitor had been there. The problem was that for us that meant over a month and a half prior. So, though the place looked nice and tidy the spiders had made webs from the ceiling to the floor. So, our first task when we arrived was to grab a broom and sweep out all of the spider webs.
Owner Communication: The owner was easy to get in touch with via email. She responded within about 24 hours. The transactions went smoothly. After the visit when I emailed her about the spider webs and a few suggestions I had for future visitors she was polite and took them under advisement.
Activities/Attractions: We recommend a trip to the waterfalls. It's like an adventure, good to say you did it, but painful as all outdoors to get to the top. The view makes it worth it. The Mercier Apple Orchards have a great shop with local items that was fun to go through. Best fudge ever! The Serenity Garden Cafe was the best restaurant we visited, with vegetarian options! Going to the grocery store and picking up some easy stuff to make is a good idea. We had frozen pizzas and salads for the meals we didn't eat out. The office staff is helpful if at a loss for where to go and what to do.
Overall: If you are used to the woods and roughing it for fun, this is a step up in luxury, but if you are used to fancy hotels with maid service you might want to be prepared to get a little dirty. We had a great time and suggested it to friends already.
