What a fabulous place!
My husband and I stayed at Alpen Rose from the 19th to the 22nd of June, 2009. The property is absolutely beautiful. The home seems like it is very new, and if it is not then it is very well maintained. The description written for Alpen Rose is very accurate and is in no way deceptive. What is the deceptive is that the photos do not do the place justice. It was a very relaxing trip, Alpen Rose is a great place to get away to with no distractions. The hot tub was very nice and clean. We didn't really think there were very many towels there. It seemed like only enough to take a shower with, which means you would need to do laundry to wash the towels often. Maybe the owner will stock up on some more, if not and you have a large family, we recommend bringing some more.
Downstairs is a game room. We didn't spend much time down there except for one night, we played air hockey and ping pong. We tried to play pool but the room is too small and we didn't want to damage the walls with the sticks. If you are a pool player that might disappoint you.
When we first walked in, the couch (leather) was dirty, that was the only thing wrong during our stay. Which is absolutely nothing to complain about, they had plenty of papertowels, washcloths, and cleaning supplies. The house was very well cleaned and taken care of, even the outside on the porch.
Speaking of the outside, there is an abundance of hummingbirds. We filled the hummingbird feeder and sat in the hot tub and watched them eat. Again, the setting and the seclusion was exactly what we wanted for a last minute get away and we were more than pleased. The price was worth it as well! Don't get me wrong, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area if that is what you're looking for! There is plenty of information at the cabin to look through, so you don't have to come prepared with a long "to do" list. You might want to bring a laptop to "google" things to do, the cabin has internet access.
We can't wait to come back again, what a great time!
