ABOVE AND BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS!

This multi-home rentals is so much fun! I traveled with friends and family and left with nothing but raving reviews. The bedrooms were clean and lovely. The kitchen's were accommodating. The owner was not intrusive, yet assisted us with our questions. The walk to the beach is a little farther than many in our group wanted to go each day so we ended up shuttling down quite a bit. The beach near the house is picture perfect. Even in late May it was ideal! We will be returning often.

Although the five block walk to La Jolla Shores Beach is level, easy and interesting it is better to shuttle our surfboards, beach gear and your little ones to the beach (which has over four hundred unrestricted parking spaces).
Your group made for very pleasant, clean and responsible guests and we really hope to have you back!

DILAPIDATED PROPERTY

We booked this property for a much anticipated family reunion and were terribly disappointed. Both homes are in sorry shape. The grounds had furniture and other items strewn all over that should have been trashed. There were no locks on the doors in most of the bedrooms and the worst part was the plumbing was in terrible shape. The toilets kept backing up in both homes and the owner had the audacity to tell us that it was our fault. Screen doors were ripped and there was no proper lighting between the two properties. The owner needs to spend some money to just get it up to code. Please spare yourself the angst and do not rent this property. We almost took him to court, but decided against the pain of dealing with someone so unreasonable.

Owner's Response: These were the renters that made me seriously consider getting out of the vacation rental business.
They snuck at least seven extra guests and were complaining every day about items created by their own overcrowding.
For example, "no hot water". The plumbers came over immediately and examined the three water heaters at the homes. They verified all were operating perfectly. Problem: over thirty people trying to take showers one after the other.
The worst was the toilet situation. Over the previous 18 months we had only one back up. We had FIVE in their first three days alone. The plumbing company supervisor had to come out and gave his opinion that one of their guests had a "medical condition", as he had previously encountered this exact problem (I'll omit the details).
Since they left we have not had a single clog or plumber call. This can be verified as we have an exclusive contract with one plumbing company.
Then they tried to blackmail me for $3,000.00, or else they would try to ruin my business. Obviously I did not succumb to this extortion attempt.
We are offended by their comments and take pride in "The Grounds of La Jolla", which is always well maintained.
A couple of bedroom doors did not have interior locks. This is typically not an issue unless you've jammed an extra seven people into a home, but we installed locks on all bedrooms within a week of their stay.
There is not a single broken screen. Most of their comments are just a wild attempt to sling mud.
We deal with all maintenance issues promptly and professionally.
Over the past six years we've not bothered any of our hundreds of past guests to request reviews.
Now it looks like we'll have to, in order to give an accurate description. Look for reviews from past guests to be posted shortly.
Regarding their other comments, the only one with validity relates to some external solar Malibu lights, which we replaced with a new set the same day they brought this to our attention.
Their overcrowding led to severe stains on the three week old carpeting and other damage, none of which I've bothered to pursue them for. I'm not kidding when I said this horrible experience nearly drove me out of renting the homes as vacation rentals.

This property was perfect for our team! We were able to spread out in the 2 houses, cook meals together and enjoy down time together between racing at the Crew Classic. I would highly recommend this property for teams, large families or families vacationing together. It's also conveniently located and includes plenty of parking.
