The Page families bought Los Suenos after spending many fun-filled vacations in Troncones. Christine is the on-site manager.
The Owner purchased this villa in 2007
Los Suenos is close to everything in Troncones: restaurants and bars, groceries, local shops, surfing, surfboard and bike rentals. The beach is right out the gate, and the sunsets are breathtaking. We want to give others the chance to enjoy this unique piece of paradise!
The quiet surroundings, relaxed atmosphere and no clocks will help you unwind and enjoy a true vacation. We always enjoy reading a good book, walking to our favorite restaurants for a delicious meal and the best margaritas! Morning walks on the peaceful beach are a great way to start your day. Go boogie boarding in the warm ocean. Spend an afternoon poolside. Los Suenos and this small village will make you feel like you are on a remote island. You will want to stay forever!
Great location, privacy, great weather every day, wonderful hostess: welcoming & helpful without being intrusive, clean & safe, decorated with amazing local furniture and art & architecture, couldn't be closer to the beach, nap in a hammock in the afternoon and fall asleep at night to the sound of the ocean
Home away from home, We really felt like family . The place is just so comfortable from the very beginning. We did not have to waste any time getting comfortable. As soon as you step through the gate you see the beautiful vegetation and the beach. Our room was very clean and large with air conditioning. The Owners Chris and Warren very hard workers and yet they took time often out of their day to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We were even invited to join them at some of their favorite restaurant's, What a treat! some of the best food we have had on any trip. They do have pets which we really enjoy. (Duke and Kitties). Nice walks on the beach.
We stayed the second week in February and it was the most relaxing time we have spent in any part of mexico. The weather was perfect, the room was clean and large enough for comfort and the grounds were well cared for by the efficient staff. The hotel manager was non intrusive as were the other guests. The hotel serves a modest breakfast and has a communal kitchen where you can cook for yourself.Lots of good restuarants within walking distance and there are plentiful and inexpensive taxis right beside the hotel. There is also an inexpensive combi service that stops all along the coast road.Time stood still for us here. Thanks Christine for a great week.We hope to return.
I just returned from my third trip to Hotel Los Suenos and enjoyed every aspect of my stay, including the canine mascot of the place, Duke. I have known Duke since he was a puppy Labrador, and he is very well trained: friendly, unobtrsive, polite, does not jump up on people, does not bark excessively, does not "do his business" on the hotel grounds, and obeys the commands of hotel mistress "La Duena" (most of the time). Duke is, however, a DOG: which means that if you leave food out on your cooking surface or counter and your door open, Duke will eat the food; that is pretty much what dogs do. It is up to us humans to be smarter than Duke (which, in Duke's case, is not very hard) and which, in the matter of the "Pilfered Chicken Caper" means shut your door as I am certain that Duke is not capable of breaking and entering a closed hotel room.
The highlight of this trip was the home cooked meal (arranged by the hotel that 6 of us ate on our last night) of wood grilled fresh snapper, chicken mole, local vegetables, refried beans, and rice accompanied by liberal quantities of Margeritas Los Suenos......and Duke got none of our food even though some of us were pretty stupid by the end of the evening.
Most of the folks we met there in the two weeks we stayed in the 'Surfer Room' were back every year, and as such, everyone seemed to know everyone else from years before. Lots of rooms but the limited outdoor space and small pool made it almost required to get to know your neighbor- a good thing actually. We left before our scheduled departure date because while we were out sunset-watching the hotel's dog broke into our room, jumped up on the stove and ate our chicken dinner from the back burner. We learned from other guests that this dog has a habit of entering rooms. When we asked for a refund for unused nights and that we wanted to shorten our time there, the management cheerfully refunded our money. Overall- very friendly with a few rustic edges. Recommended but watch that nasty dog around your room. One big perk- they have free calling to the USA (and serve great morning coffee)
We loved this hotel. It is small and friendly, with a great little staff, and a fun dog. No one was in our faces, but we felt very welcome. All we did was read, walk on the beach (almost empty...) play in the pool, and eat and drink! We've never had such a relaxing vacation! troncones is a great place, and Los Suenos was perfect for us in every way. We'll be back!
I found Los Suenos on line, and I am so glad! My boyfriend and I wanted to find somewhere low key and relaxing, and this place fit the bill. The hotel and town are small, the beach is uncrowded, and it was just so easy!
The rooms are big, and have a/c and ceiling fans, although we didn't use the a/c. Ours had a king size bed and a fairly comfortable sofa, but we spent most of our time outside in the hammock or by the pool. There is nothing between the hotel and the beach except sand, and there were only a few beach vendors, so we were never bothered. There were restaurants close by for luch and dinner, and we usually just had breakfast at the hotel (yougurt and coffee) in the morning. We want to go back with friends later this year, we had that much fun
Endangered sea turtles nest on Troncones Beach, sometimes right in front of the hotel! They come ashore at night, dig nests, lay their eggs, and then go back to the ocean, never to see their babies. After about six weeks, the eggs hatch, and the little ones make their way to the sea. Very few babies survive the dangers of the ocean to maturity. Survivors will return after many years (15-20) to lay their own eggs and begin the process again. Seeing any part of the turtle's life cycle is thrilling.
