Pelican Point, quiet setting on Hungars Creek about a half mile by boat to the Chesapeake Bay from the private dock. Enjoy the sounds of nature that only the Eastern Shore can provide, about 5 hours from N.Y., Phila., or Washington, D.C. On 1.5 acres just north of Eastville, where you can view the oldest continuous court records in the US. 10 miles south, visit historic Cape Charles with golf courses, marina, shopping, playhouse, restaurants and beach. Visit Kiptopeake State Park, Tangier Island, and Chincoteague where the last Wednesday in July is Pony Penning Day, made famous in Marguerite Henry's book, 'Misty of Chincoteague.' For more excitement cross the bay to Va. Beach, Norfolk or Williamsburg. The house has a great room, with gas fireplace, first floor master bdr., 3 other large bedrooms, large kitchen, dining room, screened porch & deck. Dock, Boat Ramp.
We fell in love with this beautiful home that was clean, spacious, and fully equipped (except for no t.v.'s in the bedrooms)but it allowed us less time watching tv and more time enjoying family. The neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet. I will definitely be renting this home again and I recommend everyone to rent it.
This was the most relaxing, peaceful vacation we have ever encountered. From the well appointed home to the screened in porch and the wonderful dock, everything was superb, not to even mention how great the neighbors were. We caught many crabs and had fantastic crab cakes. Barbara was so accommodating whenever we had questions about the property. Her home book on the Eastern Shore is priceless. Thanks
The house was spotlessly clean. Everything was there that we needed and Barbara was effecient and easy to deal with. We recieved our deposit in a timely manner a few days after we got home. We hope to return there again next year!
The house is well appointed and immaculately clean. Not a typical rental at all. You are definitely in a home. VERY QUiET neighborhood. Owner (Barbara) was great and very accommodating to our special needs. The deposit was mailed back to us almost before we got home!
Appliances are all up to date, new gas grill, and bikes and crab pots. Just a few minutes to the public beach at Cape Charles (warm water and very safe for kids). Fishing is not great off the dock at the house (at least in summer), water is very shallow and not suitable for swimming. But the crabbing was good and the kids did have fun canoeing.
We had a very refreshing time. Highly recommend.
One of the only homes with a dock and enough water to get to the Chesapeake (Google Satellite helped). Just stay to the port side coming in at low tide. The outdoor built-in grill was a great plus as well as the separate stairway bedroom for the snoring prone. Quiet is an understatement. Crabs, some shrimp and baitfish can be had at the dock with cast nets or trap. The guy on the highway with the truck and canopy on the northbound side has fresh clams, shrimp and scallops. Stopping there is a must. Dine in, I would recommend the Clam Shack. They also have frozen seafood products. There is a Food Lion to the south and a larger one further north.
The house does not look like a typical rental. Very nice interior and exterior. We are going back this year.
The owner advised me that there are some new TVs, a new bar-be-que and the back yard was opened up by some treeing. I am looking forward to the return.
Home and location was fantastic! We rented the home with friends, 2 families, 4 adults and 2 children. Loved the waterfront location, spent alot of time on pier fishing and crabbing. We had about 3/4 bushel of crabs by wednesday night, and they were TASTY! Our friends brought there Carolina skiff, and we were able to get in and out the creek even at low tide (it did get pretty shallow though). Great neighborhood for bike riding, and nice place to drop in your kayak. Everything was well kept, and I really enjoyed the tree frog that would climb on the living room window (outside) at night. Everyone was extremely nice from the owner herself, the cleaning lady and the real estate agent. The cleaning lady even gave us a watermelon!!
