What a GREAT house!

We actually stayed here during the winter! It was cozy yet spacious (the see-through fireplace is amazing). The kids had a blast in the snow down at the beach and we had some great family dinners (and heated UNO games) around the big dining table. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to make a giant meal. It is perfectly located and surrounded by amenities (we walked 3 minutes to breakfast). It's just wonderful..can't wait to return in the summer!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

great family getaway

We live in Chicago and meet our family (aunts, uncles, and cousins) at this house in Lakeside, Mi for a week every summer. Our whole family always has an amazing time. The kids range in age from 7 to 17 and they all have tons of fun. The house is very clean, comfortable and excellently equipped.
The kids love the walk to the beach - picking blackberries on the way, checking for frogs at the pond, passing the historic Lakeside Inn, and then down all those stairs ending in a beautiful, pristine, white sand beach. Since the beach is private (for Lakeside homes only) it is never crowded. In the evenings we always had a bonfire and cooked dinner, roasted marshmallows, sparklers, etc.
All in all an excellent place for a family vacation!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
