Perfect Getaway!

5 of 5
Submitted: May 4, 2013 Stayed: March 2013
We traveled with our two boys (13 and 9) and my parents. It was the perfect two family house. We had a wonderful common space on the main floor where we could all visit, eat, and enjoy the views. The downstairs space was perfect for us and the boys to spend time at late in the evenings.

The description of the house is accurate. The house itself is very well-maintained and clean!! We were able to find anything and everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. There was not a thing we would change.

The owner was fabulous to work with from the first inquiry all the way to the conclusion of our stay. They have provided a wonderful place for families and friends to vacation. We look forward to our next stay here.

Camp meeting in western NC

5 of 5
Submitted: June 7, 2012 Stayed: May 2012
When arriving at the home, my family and I were very pleased with the accommodations. I traveled with my husband and 3 children (ages 9, 6, and 6). We traveled to NC to attend our church camp meeting at camp Junaluska. The camp is approximately 10-12 minutes traveling by car. There are many local attractions within 20-45 minutes (Asheville, Cherokee, downtown waynesville,Maggie valley).

The house was very clean and easily accessed. The main floor has a study (with queen pullout bed), master bedroom (king), 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living room. Fire burning fireplace was on the main floor and gas burning on the bottom floor. To get into the home there are 3 steps. The rest of the main floor is friendly to handicap needs. The kitchen had all the amenities you require. Very pleased with the gas stove. Large propane grill on the deck made for nice grilling.

The bottom floor is very nice for the kids. 2 twin beds in 1 bedroom, queen/king is present in the other bedroom. 1 bathroom is present downstairs. Large TV is present downstairs and the Wii we brought was easily connected. A pull out sofa is in the downstairs family room.

We were very pleased with our stay and would recommend this to all who are considering a trip to western NC.

A Five Star Vacation in a Five Star Home

5 of 5
Submitted: November 14, 2011 Stayed: October 2011
We had a wonderful time and much of it was because it felt like a "home" and not a "rental". We were 2 couples along with my 88-year-old mother-in-law. One reason I chose this home was because she would not have to climb more than 2 steps on the porch in order to get into the house. My husband and I were in the master suite on the first floor and she slept in the study/bedroom and had her own full bath also on the same level. My sister and husband had the entire downstairs to themselves which is comprised of a bedroom with a queen bed and one with 2 twin beds along with a full bathroom and a very large den complete with sofas, games, and a hugh TV. The garage is also on this level. (Somehow I misunderstood and thought there was a queen bedroom upstairs instead of the study with a sleeper sofa. I really think the sleeper sofa is better for children as opposed to adults.)

The home was very clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We quickly settled into a routine of leisurely mornings drinking coffee and tea sitting outside on the upper deck and enjoying the vibrant fall foliage followed by an outing and lunch and then in the evening eating dinner, relaxing and playing cards at the kitchen table. The home is surrounded by trees which are gorgeous. As the week progressed, the leaves began to fall and we could see that in the winter there will be a view of the distant mountains.

Irv could not have been more accommodating. Early on I inquired about a television upstairs because my mother-in-law does not do steps well. He told me there was a small one in the kitchen but he put one in the study which was perfect for her. Also, there was a problem with the kitchen TV and Irv and my husband talked several times and were able to resolve it. The owners were very solicitous to our every need and it was evident that they care about the experience of their renters.

As for our daily outings, there are so many places from which to choose. We ended up going to Brevard (30 minutes from the house) which really does have white squirrels; the Biltmore Estate (30 minutes) which was amazing; Dollywood (1 1/2 hrs) surprised me because I really enjoyed it; the Bush bean visitor center was a surprise we found on the way to Dollywood; and downtown Waynesville (10 minutes) had shops and restaurants. The Ingles grocery store is great and a few minutes’ drive from the house is a convenient gas station, cafe and minimart.

I would love to return again.

A True Home Away From Home

We can't say enough to properly reflect what an enjoyable stay we had in this home. As frequent visitors to the Waynesville area, we have had numerous different accomodations and, without question these were the best by far. We have never seen a rental so well equipped for day to day living. Needless to say our stay for four weeks was memorable; we got to have several friends and family visit us from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maryland and Florida. Everyone remarked about how nice the house was. We want to thank Irving & Cindy for allowing us to enjoy their lovely home.

Autumn Vacation in the mountains of North Carolina

5 of 5
Submitted: November 9, 2009 Stayed: October 2009
It's now been two weeks since my five sisters and myself (ages 59 to 71) shared this beautiful home in Waynesville. Coming from six different directions proved a challenge, but once we arrived, unpacked, and settled into our "temporary home", we loved it.

Since we all are pretty good cooks, having many of our meals at the house was a breeze, because of the fully equipped, modern kitchen.

And we bacame "leaf peakers" since it was mid October and the Smokey Mountains were just beginning to put on their autumn attire for all of us to enjoy. I would recommend this lovely home to everyone. It has everything you need for a nice getaway. We were only challenged by the steep driveway a couple of times in our 7 pax mini-van. Thank you so much for making our most recent family reunion a success. It was just great. Best Wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving to Irv, Cindy, and their children.

Signed, Nancy, Rosemary, Kathleen, Patricia, Carole, and Judy.
