Townhouse, 1 Bedroom, 1.5 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

The apartment is a self-contained, 19th century townhouse with private entrance from the street. It is 800 sq ft, plus a roof deck. It is on 3 whole floors, with the 1st floor the kitchen and huge table, the 2nd floor the very large living room and sleeping area, and the 3rd floor the master bedroom. There are 1.5 bathrooms.

The apartment is nicely equipped, with all sheets, duvet, towels, etc. and recently repainted. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, dishwasher, washer, microwave, gas stove and other appliances. The living room has a new 46' HD LED TV (cable with 35+ channels in various languages, video on demand), radio, phone. There is free high-speed 20MB/s internet connection, wired and wireless.

The bedroom is large, and a romantic space for two people with access to the roof garden and view of Amsterdam. The living room has a very comfortable proper 2-bed unit that converts into a good bed, and an additional comfortable single sofa bed.

There is of course the normal big couch for normal sittings.

The apartment is right in the heart of Amsterdam, in the artistic Jordaan district, full of cafés, restaurants, bars, galleries, speciality shops. It is a laid-back 'Greenwich Village' of Amsterdam. The apartment is on a side street, 1/2 block from the canals, so it is very quiet at night.

A perfect getaway

I loved this house from the moment I reached the first landing and saw the lovely kitchen with the huge comfortable table that made it instantly feel like a home. The house has real character, large comfortable rooms and is well equipped. The authentic Dutch stairs - almost like walking up a bookcase more than a staircase - are amazing. The furniture is new and many things seem to have been recently renovated. Amenities like wi-fi and huge LED TV and all other items provided added to comfort of the stay. Best is the location, you are in the heart of Amsterdam with so much to do just outside the front door. We spent six hours at Daalder restaurant a few doors down - great food and atmosphere and there are so many places nearby. The owner was very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed.

We had a very superb weekend, the house is perfect - for two people or six ... I really look forward to returning and would recommend to anyone wanting a great Amsterdam experience.

Familia con hijos adolescentes, estancia de 6 dias, Apartamento céntrico, barrio tranquilo, ideal desplazarse con bicicleta (15€/dia) a todos sitios de Amsterdam, MAL comunicado con bus o tranvia al centro, se puede ir andando al centro y coger tte.publico. Apartamento edif. antiguo, bien conservado, muebles antiguos. El apartamento tiene 3 plantas, 1a. planta cocina con mesa amplia de comedor y aseo, 2a.pl. zona sala estar muy espaciosa con 2 camas aux (plegatines no muy comodos) y 3a.pl. hab.matrimonio con baño compl. (perfecta) y terrado aire libre. Típica casa de Amsterdam con escaleras muy estrechas, no asustarse, al final te acostumbras. El apartamento forma parte de la aventura de Amsterdam, es divertido y sobretodo tiene una situación perfecta junto a los canales y casa Ana Frank. Os lo recomiendo, si puedo volveremos. El propietario os ayudará por email en todo lo que necesiteis o bien por telefono; persona de toda confianza, aunque no llegamos a conocerlo en persona. El apartamento es perfecto tanto para gente joven como para familias con niños o adolescentes.

Wonderful apartment, great owner

We stayed here for 4 days while visiting Amsterdam and one of our fondest memories is the apartment we rented. The owner was very easy to deal with as we live in the States and it was exactly as the photos stated. We had plenty of space for ourselves and our two daughters. It really felt like home away from home. The neighborhood is fantastic with plenty of eateries and small shops. It's picturesque and very safe. Mostly is was great to be away from the touristy crowds yet within walking distance to all the great sites. Wish we could have stayed longer! We can't say enough.....look no further!!

Fabulous Apartment

This apartment totally rocks! The four of us (husband, wife, two grown children) stayed here for a week and we loved every moment of it. The location couldn't be better, right in the heart of Jordaan, the hippest community in Amsterdam. The rooms are large and very comfortable. I would have to say to anyone interested in staying here that the stairs are quite steep, even for Dutch stairs, but they are manageable. Otherwise this is the best deal in town!

Very Safe, Clean and great place to stay!

Great place to stay. Very safe, quiet and pleasant area. Within walking distance to all the main attractions. The flat was clean and prepared before arrival with fresh bedding and the rooftop terrace was a bonus as it was nice to have drinks up there and relax and sunbathe. On the first night of our stay our group picked up some food at the Japanese and Indonesian restaurants next door and all celebrated together in the large dining table in the kitchen where we ate, had a few drinks, laughed and prepared ourselves for the long evening ahead. It was nice to have such a communal area as well as enjoy all the nearby cafes.. We came to Amsterdam to play a show (as we are the band AAG[all american girl] and we found that this place was a perfect space for us to relax, rest, and centre ourselves for our busy nights in such a lively city.We also thought the stairs were really charming and old architecture left us with a reminder of traditional Dutch culture. I would definitely come back!
