2 bedrooms, 1 bath, sleeps 7 (1 queen, 2 twins, pull out sofa and daybed)

A quaint traditional family lakefront cottage. 300 ft of waterfront on 'Big Squam Lake', with beautiful views, sunsets, wildlife, and mountains. Enjoy the beach area.. Our rental includes a dock for your boat, use of 2 kayaks and several canoes. Boat ramp and Sandwich Town beach are just minutes away by foot! Enjoy hiking the many nearby trails of the White Mountain National Forest and the Squam Range. Two miles to Center Sandwich and 5 miles to Center Harbor for easy access to shopping, dining and groceries. Enjoy roasting marshmallows over an open campfire steps from the water. Relax with a book in the hammock while listening to call of the loons. Create your own memories on 'Golden Pond'.

I highly recommend that you get out on the lake to really get the Squam experience. We have a dock if you prefer to bring your own boat, rent one or take a local boat tour or excursion.

Squam Lake is the site of the movie 'On Golden Pond'. The cottage is located on the north end of Big Squam Lake, two miles from the quaint town of Sandwich, NH. Our lakefront home has magnificent sunsets, lake and mountain views. It is a short drive to Sandwich Center, Center Harbor, Moultonborough, Meredith and Weirs Beach. The rental includes the use of kayaks and canoes , There are some life jackets available, however you may want to bring extras. There is no cable tv or web access, however verizon cell service is strong. Eagle Cliff Trail is within walking distance from the cottage, where you will see breathtaking views of the lake. Wake to the sound of reveille playing from nearby Camp Hale at sunrise and wind down to the sound of taps playing at sunset. It is a great place to get away from it all!

  • The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the lake is literally inches from your bed. There are 2 dressers and a closet. Bedroom #2 has 2 twin beds a dresser and closet. The livingroom contains a pullout sofa and daybed. Please plan to supply your own towels and linens. There is no satellite or cable service at the cabin. A tv is available with a vcr/dvd player to view movies. There is a stereo sound system for playing your favorite music, bring a long your ipod or iphone to use with it!

Notes: There is a fireplace inside the cabin, however, we ask that it not be used. There is a nice outside campfire pit by the lake for your enjoyment.

Very comfortable. I rent the cabin with three other fishing buddies. The boat launch is nice and close to the cabin and not very busy (+). The fishing in the lake is terrific (+). The porch facing the cove has plenty of room to sit and eat at the large table. Can't wait to return next year!
