St. Leonard Vacation Rental cabin

Thank you for your interest in Matoaka Beach Cabins. Our cabins are located on the Chesapeake Bayfront on the Cliffs of Calvert with 1/3 mile of private sandy beach. Matoaka is considered one of the most beautiful rustic places on the Chesapeake. We have 40 acres of woods and fields that make Matoaka a quiet nature lovers paradise. The swimming is safe for children because of the very gradual sloping sandy bottom.

The beach sand is known worldwide by scientists for its fossils from the Miocene Epoch. The Miocene Epoch is approximately 15 million years old and some of the material found are fossilized sharks teeth, whale bone, crocodile teeth, etc. Beach walking often produce interesting specimens. You may explore and dig in the beach sand for fossils but digging in and climbing on the cliffs is prohibited.

Sign in time is 3PM Sunday and sign out time is 11AM Sunday. We do not furnish linens, blankets, cooking or eating utensils. If more than the limited number of six people (count all infants and children) are with you overnight,an extra charge of $30 a night will be made. We do not furnish beds over the limit of six. Your daily visitors over the limit of six will pay $6.00 a day and $3.00 a day for children under 12 years old.
