We just got back last Saturday from Maine. We’re still trying to adjust to life in South Florida again, but we keep dreaming of Maine and all its wonders. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and had a terrific time at the lake. We swam, fished, canoed, and picked wild blueberries and raspberries down at the edge of the water. In the evenings we would sit by the fire, roast marshmallows and then step outside to watch the night sky filled with thousands of stars. Though we’ve stayed in other houses in Maine, your house is in a wonderful location and so comfortable. Our favorite activity is to pack a lunch and to go sit on the rock ledge by the lake where we picnic, swim, canoe, and fish. Afterwards we finish our day with a scoop of ice cream at Round Pond. We also explored the different peninsulas, ate lobster rolls (repeatedly), and enjoyed every second of the cool weather. Damariscotta is a lovely little town as are so many in the surrounding area.

'Have you ever previously rented a cottage or house only to arrive at the
location and say, 'what a horror show!' Well, it won't happen with this
rental. This lovely home has everything to offer - comfort, plenty of room,
clean!! - every amenity you would ever ask for when renting a home. We
brought along our two felines who had plenty of room to roam and plenty of
windows to view the outdoors. We brought along our kayaks which we covered
with a tarp and left down by the edge of the water. McCurdy Pond is
fabulous for kayaking - not boring, and calm enough to enjoy without fear of
tipping. Having washer and dryer available was definitely a plus. Being
able to put our vehicle in the garage was great given the fact that
unfortunately we had mostly rain for the two weeks we were there. You can
walk from the garage into the rear foyer - great for carrying in groceries
with the kitchen right around the corner. If you want peacefulness, this is
the place!

Thank you so much for the generous use of your home this past week.
It was my fist trip to New England and your home provided a comfortable, convenient and enjoyable point from which to explore Maine.
Thank you again!

We loved staying at the Maine House! Our 2 families of 4 were very comfortable. Rainy days afforded us relaxation with games and movies. This is a great place to unwind, especially at night, listening to the loon calls off the pond. The beach, lighthouses, whale watch and especially the Muscongus Bay Lobster Pound are a must! (The MBLP is also just up the street for a quick steamah and lobstah run for that midday craving!).
