Amazing Get Away
My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary, and you walk into a completely stunning home. Every corner of the home has been decorated beautifully it's definitely a more modern Lake house. The kitchen has everything that you can possibly imagine to use. Everything inside the home was easy to find and utilize. There is plenty of space for a large group, we were also able to bring our small dog who also had a great time there. The home is not located directly on the water but that is absolutely okay, since you have views of it throughout the home, and the home is at the end of a lot so even the walk down to the bay is relaxing and no more than a couple minutes. The owner was easily available for any questions that we may of had. It was a little under a 2.5 hour drive from Boston, and once there you can easily get to restaurants, supermarkets and shopping easily. We definitely plan to return it was a perfect get away and would highly recommend this home!
Owner's Response: We are located on a BAY with a PRIVATE TIDAL BEACH (high to low tide) NOT A LAKE . This lovely review is from a winter, off-season guest, but because of snow cover and the seasonal closure of our beach stairs/beach access we feel they did not get an accurate perspective of our location and of our private tidal beach (high to low tide) during the summer months. You can not stay at a property that is closer to or more of a waterfront property than ours' unless you were in the water itself:. We understand during the off-season, that it may be difficult to picture the property as it presents in the summer/good weather. We wanted to clarify that we are at the water's edge with an small elevation and comfortable stairs to the beach. It is seconds down the seasonal stairs to the private tidal beach. However, climbing around when the seasonal access is closed would take longer and be a bit awkward. We are not located near any lakes. Merrymeeting bay is in midcoast Maine and is where the ocean meets the rivers and the bay provides access to the open ocean. Our photos best explain what you will find during the good weather months, which is waterfront with expansive water's edges views. The beach is wonderful for kayaking, floating of rafts, swimming or just relaxing. We are more than happy to explain and discuss anything about the property or it's location with any prospective guests. We very much appreciated the guests that wrote this kind review and are thrilled they had such an enjoyable anniversary celebration at our property. We truly hope they will return!
