We had such a wonderful time staying at Villa de Ligera and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful spot. We felt safe leaving our girls at the house and they had such a great time. We have beautiful photographs to remember it by and should we decide to return to Provo, we will certainly plan on returning to Villa de Ligera.
Many Thanks to all Island Escapes team, They were all extremely responsive and great to work with.
That makes such a huge difference in the enjoyment of a vacation.
Just returning from Villa de Ligera (Feb 08-15,2014). Our unanimous rating is that of Excellence. The process started 6 months prior to the actual trip with emails back and forth to Peter, the property manager. Peter answered all of our questions promptly, offered suggestions and referrals and always replied to my emails. The rental contract furnished by Sea Feathers was easy and straightforward with all costs explained. The week prior to our arrival Peter confirmed our flights, which were originating from 3 different US cities and upon arrival at the Provo airport, Peter was waiting outside Customs with a sign welcoming our party. Peter also assisted us with the rental vehicle company, Grace Bay Rentals, whom I highly recommend. Peter then led our band of vacationers to the villa where we were all instantly impressed. The villa did exceed my expectations and that is not an easy task to accomplish. The grounds are well kept, very clean, and secluded. Peter takes the time to give everyone a complete tour of the property, directions for the alarm system, media center and the outdoor music. The villa sports a wide-open floor plan, which is exactly what our group wanted, plus it provided for awesome views of the pool and ocean. Our party consisted of 5 couples and not once during the week did any of us feel crowded. The villa’s main attraction is the back covered patio overlooking the pool and the ocean. We spent every evening on the back patio overlooking the beautiful ocean sharing stories of the day’s adventures and enjoying refreshing spirits. The villa has tile floor throughout and ceiling fans everywhere. AC is available however none of us required it. The open floor plan and the proximity to the ocean provided an awesome breeze during the day and night.
The villa is semi secluded and off the beaten path, which is exactly what our group wanted. A rental vehicle is highly recommended and the road leading into the area of the villa is a little rough but easily navigable to all. The island is easily navigable and everything is relative to the traffic circles on the main road, Leeward Highway. Remember to drive on the left, Give Way at the traffic circles and speed limits are just suggestions as we found out. Also it turns out, so are stop signs. The gas stations on the island do not take credit cards, so plan accordingly. Overall, our group gives the Villa de Ligera and Peter (Sea Feathers) an exceptional review and recommends both to anyone.
This was our first time renting a private villa so we were nervous. There was no need to be as Peter was great, greeting us upon arrival at the airport, walking us right to our rental car and leading us to the villa. When we attempted to get our luggage out, he stopped us and asked us to wait so that he could show us the villa first to enjoy our reactions! Well, all seven of us (18-54 years old) were like little kids with wide eyes and big smiles as we walked through the front doors and got our first look at that view! That view is beyond words and while the villa itself is spectacular, we spent EVERY waking moment outside looking at that view! The hammocks were a big hit for our group and were never empty! The kayak was great for when someone had the occasional need to venture out into the blue waters. We built sandcastles on our private beach (yes we are adults), swam in the large pool, swam in the amazingly clear sea, and sat on the most comfortable patio furniture ever! Peter stopped over to check on us midweek and my "kids" had a great time swimming in the pool with Faith, his beautiful Weimaraner. We used the theater room the first night and while it was wonderful, but we just wanted to be outside so we never watched another movie for the rest of the trip! The free wifi was great as I was able to get a bit of work done but my "kids" who were so worried about being connected while out of the country were so busy relaxing and enjoying the water that they never bothered with the computer the entire week which was great. The best thing about the villa is that there is always a beautiful ocean breeze that makes the weather just perfect! When we traveled to other parts of the island it was hot and humid, the villa location was always the perfect temperature! The villa is very conveniently located on the island with the grocery store just a five minute drive away. Restaurants are also very close by with a wide variety to choose from. The villa is well stocked with everything you could possibly imagine wanting or needing to make a great vacation! We will definitely be back to Turks and Caicos and none of us could imagine staying anywhere else other than this perfect oasis. I don't think our trip would have been as memorable as it was if we had stayed somewhere else. A big thank you to Peter for being so kind. Anyone considering this villa shouldn't hesitate to book it and enjoy the best of Turks and Caicos!
My wife and I recently spent a week at Villa de Ligera, along with 8 other
adults and our 14 month old grandson. I cannot say enough about how
wonderful this villa is. It is private, spacious, tastefully decorated, beautifully
landscaped and offers one of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen.
The multiple seating areas (indoor, outdoor, terraces, etc.) provide plenty of
options for a party the size of ours... quiet moments when wanted, yet plenty of
room for the whole group to be together. You can choose to spend your time in
the villa, on one of the terraces, in the pool, on the upper sand area with
hammocks and lounge chairs, or at the secluded sandy beach and crystal clear
water a few steps away. The views from anyplace on the property are
spectacular (especially from the second floor terraces). What more could you
The property management team (Peter and Sally) were also fantastic. Peter
met us at the airport and guided us to the property. He gave us a "tour" of the
property, and immediately made us feel at home. He also made it very clear that
he was available at any time if needed for anything at all.. from help at the
villa to info about restaurants and activities. The one time we did call for his
assistance at the villa, he arrived in minutes. All in all, Peter and Sally are two
of the friendliest, most welcoming people you could hope to meet.
A couple of notes.... First, island gas stations do not take credit cards, so make
sure you save cash to fill up before returning your rental car. Second, the road
in and out of the villa is pretty long and bumpy, so, if possible, request a newer
and/or bigger rental car (thus hopefully a good suspension). The road may be a
bit bumpy, but be assured that the villa's location MORE than makes up for a
We spent a week at the Villa De Ligera and it was simply amazing. The house is spectacular with multiple beautiful bedrooms and sitting areas, an amazing upstairs patio, the biggest dining room table we've ever seen, a movie theater, 2 lounge areas near the pool, the pool, and the turquoise ocean just steps away. We had 10 adults in our group plus a 1 year old (big family trip) and the Villa was perfect for us.
Peter and Sally were amazing to work with and we would return in a second. Peter met us at the airport and escorted us to our grand introduction to the Villa De Ligera, which was in immaculate condition and truly is breathtaking. Peter is very responsive and even helped us at 6am one morning when we called him!
Nothing beats waking up and enjoying coffee on the patio looking out at the ocean! We typically opened up all doors to the house and created a truly open-air villa. Also, the house has great speakers built-in for the outside patio and pool area. We brought little bluetooth speakers but they were not needed as we simply plugged our iPhones/iPads into the stereo and moments later Bob Marley was playing out at the pool! We rented an additional kayak so we had 2 kayaks for our stay and you can kayak out to an island. The water is very calm, shallow, and beautiful so you can actually touch the bottom all the way out to the island. The beach area is just steps away and we had a great time with our one year old playing in the sand and playing with the sand toys that we found in the garage.
For activities and restaurants, Peter provided great suggestions and we did the following: the island Fish Fry (on Thursdays), Coco Bistro, Bay Bistro, Bugaloos, Mr Groupers, the Somewhere bar, Infiniti bar, and we did a snorkel/conch diving trip with Catch the Wave. We would recommend all of these activities.
We brought an Aerobie ring (frisbee like thing) and I learned that it flies forever. Upon my first toss out to the intended recipient it sailed well over her head and out to sea. If anyone finds a neon yellow aerobie in the ocean in front of the Villa, let me know :)
Peter also helped us diagnose a peculiar sea anemone like creature that we found outside. Our hopes of discovering the first land-based sea anemone were dashed after some poking and prodding led us to realize it was simply a kid's squishy ball flipped over! Provided a good laugh for all of us.
Don't hesitate, book this villa now! We hope to return one day!
This is our tenth year in TCI and our second staying at Villa De Ligera. Amazing Villa, well suited for families with multiple kids or large group of adults. We had 4 young children and the layout, pool and beach on the side could not be any better. Had a fantastic time, with lots to do and a great place to come back to!
