We are a family with two young daughters based in the UK.
We knew the previous owners and their family for many years and had spent many happy times at Chatre with them. When they retired to Loches and were selling the farm, we took the opportunity to buy the holiday cottage on the farm.
We love the rural peace and quiet of Chatre and the French quality of life. Coming from a busy town, it is a delight to sit out on a warm evening with no sound except the crickets calling and the ducks from the wood across the fields. With almost no neighbours, you get a great view of the stars on a clear night.
In the big garden and without traffic worries, the children enjoy the hammock and toys we leave there including a splash pool.
Although rural, there are plenty of activities within easy reach as well as exploring the chateaux and history of the Loire valley, so you are never bored.
Peaceful rolling countryside ideal for those wanting to get away from it all, yet within easy reach of the main attractions of the Loire Valley. Scratch the surface and there is much to do locally. Sandy beaches at Bellebouche, the beach in the heart of France, Montresor and St Cyr Lake. Medieval Loches is an attractive tourist destination close by.
