Four Star Luxury Home, Spectacular Ocean Beach

We can’t thank you enough for making the cottage so welcoming and relaxing. Our three weeks were perfect. Even the weather cooperated.
If only we had realized just how well stocked and equipped the house was! The last time we had rented a house (in North Carolina) we ended up having to buy dishtowels, detergents etc. So you can imagine how delighted we were when we discovered a whole drawer of dishtowels and another drawer of Tupperware, and a pile of beach toys on the deck! We made good use of the kitchen, baking and celebrating over two birthday cakes, serving up waffles, making cottage pie from all-local ingredients (from the Montrose veggie stand), and much more. You and the previous renters had left many dried goods for which we were grateful, and we made sure to more than replenish the stock. The only thing we had trouble finding anywhere on the island was decaffeinated espresso for my lovely wife and unsalted butter (which we finally found at the supermarket in Alberton).

Barb (caretaker) was delightful. She came about mid-way through our trip to clean and also gave us lots of advice on all things local. She was very thoughtful to ask and work around the baby’s nap times (both for the cleaning and the lawn mowing, twice).

We didn’t venture far. Most days we simply went down to the beach, played in the backyard, had a campfire, and made small excursions for an ice cream in Huntley or to pick up supplies. We explored the western peninsula including the North and West capes, Northport, Tignish, and Alberton. Also went to a church picnic. Though we were too early for blueberries, we caught the end of strawberry season/ We visited the Jacques Cartier PP and saw where we used to go camping back in the 70s, we all left agreeing that your beach was far better!

We left with many wonderful memories and souvenirs of PEI including beach glass (including a couple of fragments of blue, one red, and one pink – which my 6 year-old, Rachel, was overjoyed with), jogging shoes stained with 100+ km worth of red dirt, mussel shells (from dinner) that will be painted for Christmas ornaments, and we will probably have PEI sand in our Volvo station wagon forever.

What a perfect place to stay! The owners see to it that every need is met. The cottage is clean, organized and beautifully decorated with everything you could want in a kitchen. On a rainy day, we made pies! We had the beach to ourselves with the exception of another family about 1/2 km away. Our children, ages 3,9 and 15 all found plenty to do both inside and outside of the cottage. Two rooms have bunk beds with a double bed on the bottom and a single on top. The master bedroom has sliding glass doors out to the ocean view. Both bathrooms well stocked with towels, etc. Bring food with you, as the cottage is about 25 minutes from any supermarket, and even these are very small and rather expensive. We delighted in all the local vegetable stands and fresh lobster from the harbor. PEI potatoes, yum! This was the perfect place for us to "unplug", as there was very little else to do in the area besides beach, bike, stargaze and drive around to see the natural beauty. A short trip to the top of the cape to see the windmills was well worth the drive. The owners are very responsive, considerate and pleasant to deal with. The caretakers are also delightful if you need anything or have questions about the area. We will be going back.

Excellent Vacation rental for a family. These owners have thought of absolutely everything!!! Wish I would have packed lighter to stay here. Definitely felt like home away from home, nice and clean, well kept yard. The sunroom was fantastic, was our favorite room. Beautiful sunsets and very private beach. Location is very remote, but was great for relaxation. Highly recommend.
