Welcome to “Sea, Sand and Stars Cottage', where you will experience PEI's overwhelming wonders of ocean waves, a beautiful, clean soft red sandy beach, perfect quietness, and amazing starry night skies. All this surrounding a 'home away from home' that will provide you with your every need and wish for a perfect holiday. The cottage is situated on a large grassy, pine and larch bordered lot overlooking the cape, 500 ft. of beach and the expansive Northumberland Strait. The beach is accessed by an easy, safe, short walk, on a gently sloped pathway through trees, shrubs and flowers at the side of the yard. There are no difficult steps for seniors or children, Plan to, swim, surf the waves, relax under the umbrella or build sand castles in the sun, or recline on lawn chairs on the deck or at the cape, play games in the large grassy yard all while watching birds including hummingbirds, the fishing boats, and ocean waves. The verandah provides a sunny place to curl up or eat a meal.

This beautiful cottage is located on a quiet peninsula away from hustle and bustle, where a truly relaxing holiday can be enjoyed. Spend time on the wide sandy beach reached by walking along a gently sloping pathway through a tree, shrub and flower lined path.One can walk for miles along the ocean which is the warmest water north of the Carolina's. Miminegash is 1/2 hour beach walk. Lobsters can be purchased from the fishing boats. Scallops and other fish are available at the stores.The ocean waves, night stars, sunsets, and birds will keep you enthralled. The deck, screened and windowed verandah or the cape are fantastic places to relax at breakfast while watching the fishing boats. The veranda and deck are fully equipped with tables, umbrellas and chairs, barbeque and lobster cooker.

Notes: Kitchen is equiped with baking dishes and all baking needs, cookbook, casseroles, electric tea kettle, food processor, 6 square waffle iron, electric grill, electric can opener, large and small cooking pots, lobster forks and crackers. The deck is equiped with a large table, umbrella and benches, gas barbecue, lobster cooker and pot. Laundry soap is provided. There is a clothes line and pins to hang clothes, or wet bathing suits. The porch/verandah is totally enclosed with large windows making it usable in any weather, wind or rain. It is equiped with a large table with 6 padded chairs, a small table with umbrella and 4 padded chairs for in or outdoor use, 3 wicker lounging chairs, 3 small coffee tables, and a bar fridge. A flashlight is available for night time walks. Walkie talkies make communicating from house to beach possible. A child's booster seat is available upon request. 4 hand held phones as well as a land line phone for emergency power failures.

More About the Property: Walk the beach for miles either to the Miminegash Harbor, (one mile) where fishing boats come and go carrying their seasonal catches which one can purchase, or walk the other direction from the property past water seeping from the cape, a view of the windmills and many more of the stunning, ever changing ocean waves and sunsets views. Miminegash harbor is a little fishing village with 2 small convenience stores, a post office and a gas station. Continuing through the village takes you to the door of the famous “Seaweed Pie Restaurant” where mouth watering seaweed pie and coffee and light meals await you. To be sure this is a vacation home in which to rest and relax or travel from to many interesting places near by.

Our party of three persons rented this vacation home in mid-July. Spectacular sunsets, long sparsely populated beach (the beach is virtually at the end of the property) and very quiet. The home was spotless. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and produced a detailed information binder outlining the cottage amenities and suggesting local merchants, restaurants and activities. I have highly recommended this property to family members and friends.
