Every year for past 25 years my 4 sisters and I have gone away together to have a long weekend together. We stayed at this charming home And could not have been more pleased. Living room was so comfortable, beds are wonderful, master bath fantastic ,kitchen updated and plenty of room for all of us to be together preparing meals. We loved all the charming touches of many built in shelves and cabinets. Second full bath near kitchen came in very handy. The bedroom with curtain, which is much larger than it appears in picture, with large closet and door to patio was such a hit we had to draw straws to see who would be the lucky one to call it their own for weekend. Overall we wish we had more time to spend there. I would definitely return. Owner was very easy to work with and even had a bottle of wine for us from a nearby vinyard.
My family greatly enjoyed our stay in Mystic. This home is bright, cheery and very comfortable. In addition to a great home in a great location, the owner is very easy to work with. There were many small details that made me feel more like a welcomed guest rather than just some other renter. Thank you for sharing your home and your hospitality.
My wife had been to Mystic on a school trip when she was little, but I have never been. During an internet search of the sights and sounds of Connecticut, I discovered this little gem on VRBO. As someone who has had other great rental experiences, this one did not disappoint me. Breezing through the rooms upon our arrival confirmed that everything listed was extremely accurate. Although the kitchen is not featured or mentioned in any great detail, as a seasoned professional chef, I can testify that it is roomy, convenient, and functional. As for the location, the home is a short drive to the heart of Mystic and practically anything else that tourists come from miles around to see.
Your home is pristine, comfortable, warm, and fuzzy. Hands down, we highly recommend it if you want a comfortable place that greets you after a day of sightseeing and eating delicious food.

What a delightful house! My family of 4 wanted somewhere to stay when we visited Mystic with my mother in law. We needed somewhere quiet, cute and with enough space to spread out. With 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a spacious loungeroom and kitchen, there was definitely plenty of space for everyone. It was lovely to see a house with bookshelves filled with books and DVD's for both adults and children, and also a toy cupboard filled with a great range of toys and games for all ages. Little thoughtful touches all throughout; a welcome basket with wine and coffee, night lights in the bathrooms and hallways, lots of information, maps and suggestions, great supply of kitchen and laundry staples. The grounds were in full Fall display, with gorgeous views of orange leaves from every window. We were also lucky to see 3 deer wandering past the backyard. Communication with Mary was friendly, helpful and quick.
This wonderful rental was perfect for me. Mary, the owner, was very attentive to all emails with questions I had. I opted to stay in the 3rd "bedroom" (the bed was very comfortable). Liz, who caretakes the property left a wonderful gift basket and is very available for any needs. Although there aren't pictures of the kitchen or bathrooms, rest assured, you will not be disappointed. The kitchen is large, lots of counter space and well stocked with almost everything (I needed a coffee scoop). No one else's food items or personal items. The patio for birdwatching is wonderful. The laundry room is a bit warm (the furnace and hot water heater share) but I love having the convenience of a washer/dryer. Staying on my own, I felt safe and secure. The main bathroom is also large, with a big soaking tub, shower and grab bars for us oldies. The whole house was spotlessly clean, which isn't always easy in a beachy area. Everything is an easy distance and Mystic is a wonderful New England town to visit. I do believe I may stop my search for a rental whenever I visit this area because this home is perfect!
My sister and I stayed with our 91 year old mother in this lovely home over Mother's Day weekend. My mother grew up in Mystic and we enjoyed many summer vacations there at my grandparents' home. This was an opportunity to return with my mother and visit many of our favorite places in the area, along with other family members, who stayed nearby. The house was perfect for my mother, who uses a walker and needed a one floor home with easy access. Mary even had a handrail installed in the bathroom prior to our arrival, which helped my mother a lot. Having two full bathrooms was also very helpful, as my sister and I could use one off the kitchen if we got up early in the morning and didn't want to wake up my mother, who stayed in the room was closest to the other bathroom.
Our only problem, the first night, was that the outside spotlight didn't come on when we returned to the house from dinner after dark; we later discovered the switch for the light in the spare bedroom near the patio. Since there is some uneven ground from where the car was parked onto the walkway to the patio, some lighting for my mother was important. Fortunately, I had discovered some flashlights in the kitchen drawer, which served the purpose well. Mary was very responsive to my letting her know about this and said she'd always make sure it was in "on" position for future guests, which I know she will. The patio was lovely, so nice to sit out on together, seeing and hearing all the birds frequenting the bird feeders nearby ( extra seed supplied to re-fill them too.)
And - to top it off, we were greeted with a bottle of wine from local winery, along with coffee and shortbread ( How did she know this is one of my mother's favorites?)
We felt so fortunate to find this perfect little house for our weekend away and heartily recommend to other small groups of family or friends visiting the Mystic area.
