SEATTLE BUNGALOW IN A PERFECT LOCATION!

Seattle House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2-3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Charming bungalow in Wallingford - one of Seattle's best urban neighborhoods, nestled between Fremont and the University District. The house is in a safe and quiet but vibrant neighborhood and is only a 10-minute drive to downtown locations such as Pike's Place Market, the Space Needle, several museums, Capitol Hill, Key Arena, both Safeco and Qwest/Century Link fields, and to downtown ferries to Bainbridge Island or the Clipper to Victoria. It is only minutes away from the University of Washington, Seattle Pacific University, and the zoo. Bus service is within blocks. Easy on-street parking.

The house is in a great walking neighborhood (WALKING SCORE 97/100) - within walking distance of many restaurants and cafes, two movie theaters, a grocery store, banks, shops, and bars. Walk down the hill to the south to Gas Works Park on the northern shore of Lake Union with incredible views of downtown and the Space Needle. Or walk north to Green Lake, one of the most popular parks in the city with rental boats, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, a city 9-hole golf course, community swimming pool, and a 3-mile walking trail around the lake. There are two wonderful playgrounds less than six blocks away, and a smaller one a half block away. There are two wading pools for young children: one about 5 blocks to the south and one at Green Lake.

The house was built in 1916 - it has a very private fenced-in patio, a nice front porch with room for two, a soaking tub in the master bath, and a large living room. All on one floor. Two bedrooms contain queen beds; a hide-a-bed in the living room can accommodate two additional guests. Hardwood floors throughout. An ideal home for two couples to share or a family in town for a wedding, graduation, vacations, or reunions. For 'unrelated' friends, a third, very small bedroom with a double bed is available for $50 extra per night (on the same floor). Let me know if you want this option. The limit of guests for the house remains at 6 total.

WiFi internet and flat screen TV with comcast cable included.

A portable crib is available upon request.

The Skansonia, a popular wedding venue, is just down the street.

As I know plans change, I allow refunds up to 30 days before the occupancy period. For that reason, I have a waiting list for last minute cancellations. If the time period is listed on the calendar is 'unavailable,' you can request to be placed on the waiting list.

For more information, read what former guests have to say in the REVIEWS SECTION.

A NOTE ABOUT THE RATES:

I have two options: I can lock the third bedroom and charge less for smaller groups (two couples, small family, etc.) who don't need the 3rd bedroom. But many people want all 3 bedrooms. This website can't accommodate this option in the rates section if I use the 'pay online' method which people seem to want.

So the rates are as follows in the summer:

2-BEDROOMS - $275/night; $1800/wk

3-BEDROOMS - $325/night; $2100/wk

If this doesn't seem right when you're paying online, let me know and we'll figure it out.

Guestbook comments from the owner
My husband, grown son and I stayed in the bungalow for 5 nights in May and we were very happy with the accomodations. The house is cozy and charming and had everything we needed. The neighborhood is wonderful with many restaurants, shops, grocery, etc. within easy walking distance. We especially loved the beautiful backyard and enjoyed having friends over to sit outside and have appetizers before walking to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Bridget was very good about checking with us to make sure we knew how to operate everything and to see that we had every comfort. Highly recommended!

Photo at left is just before snowmachine ride on Vatnajokul Glacier in Iceland, summer 2009. Renting out my home during the summer has allowed me to travel quite a bit.

In 2010 we went to Buenos Aires and visited Turkey and Amsterdam (stayed on houseboat through VRBO) in 2011. We spent New Year's Eve 2012 in a VRBO apartment in the heart of Paris followed by a winter weekend in Iceland.

I lived in this house for about 18 years. It is a wonderful home in a fun and vibrant neighborhood. Even though we're just 10 minutes from the downtown core, the sought-after neighborhood of Wallingford feels like a small town. The home was built in 1916.

I grew up in Rhode Island and the Bay Area, then spent 14 years in Alaska, finally landing here in Seattle, the perfect combination of city, salt water, and mountains.

The Owner purchased this house in 1992

Looked like a great neighborhood, close to everything, and easy to access from a variety of directions. A great place for families.

The best part about this house is the neighborhood. There are two major roadways into downtown, plus numerous side streets (and three more bridges). But in the neighborhood, great restaurants are within walking distance: Tilth, Musashis, Eva's, Kisaku, Julias, Bizarros, Joule, Blue Star Pub, Tutta Bella, Murphy's Pub, Smash Wine Bar, Tangletown Pub, several Thai places and too many other restaurants and coffee houses to list. And you are close to other great neighborhoods like Fremont, Ballard, Phinney Ridge, Green Lake, University District and Eastlake.

GREAT STAY IN NICE HOME & NEIGHBORHOOD

Great stay in nice home & neighborhood
  • 5 of 5
We had a great stay at this nice home and really enjoyed the surrounding neighborhood of Wallingford. There were many good eateries/bars within 3 blocks and the nearby grocery store was convenient. Centrally located to allow easy access to various parts of Seattle including access to I-5 for downtown and University Village.

Owner was friendly and provided lots of recommendations. Next time we're in town, we'd consider staying here again since it accommodated our larger group.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

  • 5 of 5
We chose this area in order to attend the 2014 University of Washington graduation ceremonies. It made a great gathering place for our extended family (who also came from out of town, and who stayed in costly and less comfortable hotel rooms!) We were able to walk to local restaurants as well as to the market. The house was clean, well-appointed, and parking was never a problem. The owner was helpful and responsive to our questions.

Thank you so much, Bridget!

PERFECT LOCATION AND A GREAT HOUSE!

  • 5 of 5
Our family of four (2 adults, a teen and a tween) needed a short term rental and lived here from mid-September to mid-May. We loved the bungalow and will miss it! The house is clean and comfortable (exactly as described) and the neighborhood is very quiet. It has modern kitchen appliances and washer/dryer, and the supply of hot water seemed endless – something you notice when you have a teenager. We mostly cooked our own meals and the kitchen is well stocked with cookware, dishes and other basics. There are plenty of linens and blankets, plus all the other little comforts of home. We walked everywhere since you can find every kind of shopping and restaurant within a few blocks. Bus stops nearby made getting to the UW and downtown easy and convenient. Street parking on the same block was always available for my car. Bridget is awesome - very nice, easy to get ahold of and responsive to even the slightest problem. Even the neighbors are great! The only people I wouldn't recommend it to are families with toddlers (because it's not baby-proofed) and people with mobility issues (because of the entry stairs and the tubs in the bathrooms). Enjoy!

QUIET REFUGE IN SEATTLE

  • 5 of 5
There were 2 couples in our party, and we loved the quiet of this quaint cottage in the midst of the city. It was wonderfully located within a short distance of many of the sights we visited. The back patio garden was a hidden treasure as well. We used the kitchen for each breakfast and for several suppers. We were very happy with everything. We especially loved easy recycling--just out the kitchen window! Everything was very clean and met all of our expectations~

SEATTLE BUNGALOW IN WALLINGFORD, SEATTLE

  • 5 of 5
My family and I couldn't have been more pleased with the Seattle Bungalow in Wallingford, Seattle this past weekend. The house was clean, cozy and very comfortable. The back yard was a great place to have our leisurely morning coffee and late night snack. And the location is great - within walking distance to Green Lake and 45th Street which had many restaurants. Everything we needed was in the house including a roll of ribbon we found in one drawer which we used on two bottles of wine that we gave as a house warming present and a birthday present. If I ever need a place to stay in Seattle again, I hope the Seattle Bungalow in Wallingford will be available.
